Before sitting down with his family for Shabbat, Kippy Weinberg is told by Josephine, his grandparent's maid and his best friend, that he should expand his awareness to the tumultuous world around him. Despite constant bullying by his brothers during dinner, Kippy starts to notice and even question his father's thinly-veiled racism. The following night, Kippy overhears his parents discussing devastating news for him and his relationship with Josephine, spurring him to tune into a local talk radio show discussing important social issues happening around him.
