While his wife is away, Antoni Fertner is at a restaurant, and the vodka flows freely for him and his friends. As they shut down the joint, he announces they're going to go to his place to continue the party. It gets lively but not too raucous, and one lady takes off her girdle to get more comfortable. Then the telegram arrives: his wife is returning in the morning. And Fertner can't seem to get rid of that girdle.
It's a rare and pretty funny short comedy from Russia in the pre-Academic period. Fertner plays his role as big but believable, boisterous when drunk, increasingly grouchy when sober and confronted with the prospect of a wife who won't believe that nothing happened.
