Anne Shirley

I recently finished re-reading the books, and this anime is so faithful to them, it's wonderful! The graphics are beautiful, though I found some discrepancies, like Gilbert's hair, which looks a bit red instead of brown. But overall, I enjoyed each episode tremendously. It was delightful to recognize literal lines from the source material in the dialogues, which makes it a great adaptation in my opinion. Really recommend it, even if you haven't read the books!

This anime makes me so happy. The amount of emotion, warmth, and simple beauty in it is indescribable.

I honestly didn't expect much when I decided to watch it, but I ended up falling in love with Anne Shirley and got so attached to her.

I don't even know how to describe my feelings toward this anime - there's just this comforting, gentle warmth I feel every time I watch it.

There's something magical about its simplicity, the humor, and Anne's personality that made me feel alive again.

I love these kinds of calm, lighthearted anime because they fill my heart with peace and happiness.

This is BY FAR my favorite adaptation of Maude Montgomery's beloved book. The animation is beautiful and truly sets free the soul of the story and Anne's cherished heart. The bosom friendship between Anne and Diana is portrayed beautifully according to the time period and without modern belittling or misunderstanding . The story and portrayal are entirely wholesome (no modern agenda, just a truly beautiful story brought to life as written). I am absolutely in love!!

My seven year old daughter and I watched it together (English dubbed version) and both found ourselves in tears, giggling, and flowing over with emotion to witness Anne's experiences. We are waiting in anticipation for the final 3 episodes to come out in English (I hate the voices of the Japanese version... don't fit the aesthetic at all-but the English version is beautiful).

I love that this is a wholesome show my family and I can enjoy together, and that the creators stayed true to the authors intent and time period. Wonderfully made!

I love the books, and reread them at least once a year. Before this anime, I had not found a film or TV adaptation that I felt stayed true to the books, so I had given up. Anne with an E had great casting, but went so far off book it wasn't Anne of Green Gables anymore, and in the Megan Follows adaptation, Marilla is wearing puffed sleeves. It lost me after that. This one, on the other hand, has been extremely faithful to the books, and I love it! They've left a few things out, which I get because of time constraints, but the things they've included are book perfect! Every week I feel like doing a dance because, oh my gosh, they're including the twins! Or, we get Miss Lavendar! And oh yay, it's Phillipa! It makes me happy every time I watch it, the animation is beautiful, and the characterizations are on point!
