Bad approach
The premise of Ruri Rocks initially sounded refreshing - a slice-of-life educational anime about geology. The idea of learning real facts about minerals and rock formations through an animated medium could have been genuinely engaging. Unfortunately, the execution fails on almost every level.
While the educational element is there in theory, it feels secondary and inconsistent. Facts about different types of rocks are thrown in randomly, without context or meaningful integration into the story. What could have been a fun and informative experience instead becomes confusing and hollow.
The animation style is another major issue. The studio seems overly focused on the characters, constantly pushing them into the foreground with strange camera angles and exaggerated movements. This choice gives the series a very unsettling tone - one that feels out of place for what should be an educational show. Rather than exploring geology, Ruri Rocks spends an uncomfortable amount of time on unnecessary fan-service shots.
The heavy use of ecchi tropes is, by far, the anime's biggest weakness. It undermines any sense of curiosity or respect for the subject matter. Instead of teaching the viewer something meaningful, it distracts and trivializes the topic. It's difficult to take anything seriously when every scene feels designed to titillate rather than inform.
Overall, Ruri Rocks could have been a creative way to make geology fun and accessible, but its priorities are completely misplaced. What remains is a shallow, awkward blend of science and fan-service that doesn't satisfy either audience. If you were hoping for a relaxing, educational show about rocks, this one might leave you feeling more uncomfortable than enlightened.

An unique piece of artwork
For me this series has been giving me some lesson about rocks and ITS really exciting me because i learned something new while watching this but beside that this is a good series based in quality of the animation, the story of this, the character and everything else so this is a good production for me.
Mineralogy With Rocking Jeans
Ruri Rocks Is a show, where curvy women talk about rocks and how they are made, and how amazing Japan is because of geography.
What make me watch it, was the very pretty and sexy character design, But sadly the meat of the show is about the rocks, the focus is on the rocks, and maybe you can become interested in it, but I could not.
It is very hard in the area of slice of life, but that kind of slice of life where the conflicts is barely there, and it's mostly about relaxing and listening to the little girl, getting upset all the time.
But even if the plot isn't there, the backgrounds look natural and detailed, it makes Japan look so beautiful, and the character design is just so sexy.
The character interactions are cute, and I hope you will get more out of it than I did, maybe you will become a true rock enjoyer.

Entertaining and Educational
The nature scenery is exceptional. If you like nature, mountains, rivers, trees, and sunsets; this is worth watching. The characters are pleasant and entertaining. There is no sex and no violence in this slice of life series.
The story begins with a school girl who loves gems and jewelry, but can't afford to buy them. When she learns that her grandfather used to collect crystals on the mountain, she decides she will save money and find jewels herself!
Her quest for riches gradually changes into curiosity and a thirst for knowledge about treasures of the earth. She finds both pretty things and valuable things; learning a lot as she goes exploring the countryside.
This is fascinating and educational, yet never boring. If I was still teaching middle-school science, I would use this program in class to teach geology and the scientific method!
This won't be replacing any action shows in the top ten, but if you want to feel your mind grow, or just want to see some pretty scenery, I recommend you give this a try.

Story-line guides us to behave in the way to address nature as it has been and will be.
Well these days, I am so impressed with the works of Cloverworks whose well known anime are "Bocchi the Rock" and "SPYxFAMILY". Now they are releasing three adolescent comedies, "Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity", "My Dress-up Darling Season 2", "Rascal doesn't dream of Santa Claus" simultaneously. Their works are fine, terrific even in such a busy condition. The quality of animation could attract attention from overseas geeks.
By the way, recently, I found the one which should be checked. That is "Ruri Rocks". Original Manga is created by Keiichiro Shibuya, who was a school teacher of Science, studied Mineralogy in his graduate course. The quality of animation and music itself is also beautiful enough to make audiences to lock on to the beauty and wonder of stones and jewels among nature. However the most striking point of the story is that it is weaven to open up the eyes of audiences to think and see things as the entity having a long history and backdrops, which is quite important for students to learn and facilitate not only STEM but also humanities. The story proceeds to instill such a way of behavior, quite naturally. So impressive and exciting. Don't miss it.
