Strong Star Power / Thematic Fit
"World of Tanks: Holiday Ops 2024" is a strong seasonal event. It builds on past iterations and adds polish and variety. Jason Statham is a good fit as ambassador; the festive presentation is well done; there are plenty of rewards and things to do, which helps sustain player interest over several weeks.
For players who enjoy the game regularly, the event offers worthwhile incentives, cosmetics, premium content, and the novelty of the theme. For more casual players, there's enough low bar participation elements (login rewards, simpler missions) to gain value, though maximum reward likely requires more time investment.
It also works as marketing: the inclusion of Statham + cinematic promotional material helps generate outside buzz (think articles, videos) which helps drive re.engagement or new players. It's more than just in.game; the campaign is well designed.
I'd give it about 7/10. It delivers well, but has room for improvement in clarity of reward paths, and in balancing what requires heavy play vs what casual players can realistically achieve.

Empty Cash Grab
As a long-time gamer, I find it frustrating when a game leans so heavily into cash-grab events, and Holiday Ops is a perfect example. On the surface, it looks festive and fun, but underneath it's just a grind designed to push players toward spending money.
There's little real creativity, just flashy skins and artificial progression walls. The excitement wears off quickly once you realize it's all about monetization. For a community-driven game, it feels like a letdown-something that should be about fun turned into another way to drain wallets.
