Vallavanukku Vallavan (1965) should not be translated as Expert of All Experts, rather Capable/Strongest of (All/Other) Capable Persons.
Vallavanukku Vallavan was a remake of Hindi movie (Ustadon ke Ustad -1963) highlighting about the life of 4 men (vallavan) with different characters where a usual villain becoming hero and vice versa; an unusual treat indeed for the viewers in those days.
The movie is one that people will remember easily at the first place when talking about the then popular Tamil film producer, Modern Theatres Ltd.
I like the credit title of the movie developing from a door with steps becoming bigger to the size of the screen, shaping the number 100, with a catchy background music.
It is the 100th movie of MTL which had a successful 100 days run (or maybe more), unlike many actors 100th movies that had usually failed for unclear reasons.
The songs by music director Vedha are very popular till date though some may be ripped off from Hindi hits. I like the song "manam ennum medai mele" for its melodious tune and beautiful lyrics by poet Kannadasan.
You can still go for it today if you like old B/W thriller....
