Spoilers for "The Boys" to follow.
"The Boys" season 4 is making the best use of its spin-off series "Gen V." The season is not only incorporating the supe-killing virus developed during "Gen V" season 1, but now some familiar faces are joining the party. Among them is the supe detective Robert Vernon/Tek Knight (Derek Wilson).
Introduced in "Gen V" episode 4, "The Whole Truth," Tek Knight debuted on "The Boys" itself in season 4, episode 5, "Beware The Jabberwock, My Son." The sixth and most recent episode, "Dirty Business," brings him back into focus as Hughie (Jack Quaid) goes undercover in Tek Knight's home: a stately manor.
"Gen V" already used Tek Knight as a Batman parody. On that show, his powers were established to be heightened senses that make him as observant as Sherlock Holmes or Adrian Monk. Unlike Batman, however, Tek Knight does have superpowers, but his are invisible ones. By...

The Boys spinoff Gen V is proving to be just as explosive and bloody as its predecessor. Set at Godolkin University, a college for young supes, we’ve already seen the school’s top student Golden Boy a.k.a Luke Riordan (Patrick Schwarzenegger) burn himself in front of everyone, an exploding penis, and Little Cricket a.k.a. Emma (Lizze Broadway) diving through the ear canal of a guard in the mysterious facility known as The Woods.
As if trying to survive the cutthroat politics of God U wasn’t enough, the young supes also find themselves embroiled in a mystery involving Luke’s brother Sam (Asa Germann) and the Vought facility that’s been keeping him prisoner. Now that we’re halfway through the season, things are bound to only get bloodier and wilder from here, especially now that...

The Burial is a legal drama film directed by Maggie Betts from a screenplay by Betts and Doug Wright. Loosely based on the true story of lawyer Willie E. Gary and his client Jeremiah Joseph O’Keefe, the Prime Video film follows the story of their lawsuit against the Loewen funeral company, as it was documented by Jonathan Harr in a New Yorker article. The Burial stars Jamie Foxx and Tommy Lee Jones in the lead roles. So, if you loved the Prime Video film here are some similar movies you could watch next.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Gen V Season 1 Episode 4 “The Whole Truth.”] Gen V is raising the stakes with each episode as the Supes at the center of this college-set tale become even more wrapped up in the shady doings of Godolkin University. After the death of Golden Boy (Patrick Schwarzenegger), the academic institution is paid a visit by investigator Tek Knight (Derek Wilson), who is sent by Vought to find a scapegoat for the late Supe’s downfall. When he surmises that there isn’t anyone good enough to pin the death on, he suggests attaching that guilt to Dean Shetty (Shelley Conn). Ultimately, his intention, as well as Vought’s, is to protect their secret operation known as “The Woods,” where Golden Boy’s brother Sam (Asa Germann) was being held until Emma (Lizze Broadway) helped him escape. While the connection between Vought, The Woods, and Godolkin University remains foggy, executive producer Michele Fazekas says, “We’...

"The Boys" is, with some exceptions, a show for the boys. That's not to say that the girls can't also enjoy its wily charms, but the Prime Video series has made a cinematic universe on its ability to satirize fragile male egos the world over, and its obsession with that subject often forces its female characters to the sidelines. Sure, heroes like Kimiko (Karen Fukuhara) and Starlight (Erin Moriarty) get plenty of chances to play with — and against — the boys, and their arcs are tied exclusively to their own emotional worlds. But even if girls do get it done, they're not given nearly the same attention as Homelander's (Antony Starr) daddy issues, or Hughie's (Jack Quaid) mommy issues.

This article contains spoilers for Gen V episode 4.
When episode 4 of The Boys spinoff Gen V isn’t indulging in breathtaking acts of penile violence, it’s introducing something else the flagship franchise is known for: a truly loathsome supe.
Though the term “supe” in The Boys‘ universe is short for “superhero,” everyone knows by now that there’s little heroic about Vought International’s roster of Compound V-enhanced individuals. “Heroes” on The Boys run the gamut from the mostly decent Annie January a.k.a. Starlight (Erin Moriarty) to the bumbling and corrupt The Deep (Chace Crawford) to the outright terrifying and evil Homelander (Antony Starr). And now Gen V has brought us true crime specialist Tek Knight (Derek Wilson), who is malevolent and gross in a way we haven’t witnessed yet.

“The Whole Truth,” the fourth episode of Gen V, features a dick joke in its first act, a dick joke in its third act, and wedged in-between is a dick exploding like a bloody piñata. Ladies and gentlemen, The Aristocrats …. I mean, The Boys!
The Boys universe has always operated under the ironclad comedic principle of “pee-pees are funny” and Gen V seems to be continuing that tradition. And honestly, it’s hard to argue they’re wrong for doing so. Pee-pees are indeed funny! We’ve seen this borne out in the season 3 opener of the flagship series which saw shrinking supe Termite entering an actual human penis and inadvertently blowing it up (along with the body it belongs to) by a sneeze-triggered rapid growth. Just last week on Gen V we saw another shrinking supe Emma (Lizze Broadway) engage with...

The latest "Gen V" episode, "The Whole Truth," has finally introduced a character often mentioned on the parent show "The Boys" — Tek-Knight/Robert Vernon (Derek Wilson), one of this world's many super "heroes." In this world, Supes are mostly just media stars and Tek-Knight is no different — in fact, he represents one of the most insidious forms of entertainment out there: true crime.
He is the host of "The Whole Truth with Tek-Knight" (streaming on Vought+) and for his latest episode, he's come to Godolkin University. He's there to teach some criminology classes and film an episode about Golden Boy's (Patrick Schwarzenegger) murder-suicide in the series premiere. Of course, he's not there out of any sense of justice, but as a simple tool for his bosses at Vought — his assignment is to pick a patsy and further cover up the truth.

Despite himself being an adept superhero comics writer in the earlier days of his career, the ever-increasing popularity of the said genre has always irritated Garth Ennis, who holds the opinion that both comics and media have been getting saturated by the influx of stories regarding caped avengers. So in a way, The Boys, initially published by one of the imprints (Wildstorm) of DC Comics itself (the irony), was a hit piece against the dominance of the genre, a series that was chock fu tropes, perverted subversions, and Parody of iconic characters. The small-screen adaptation of the comic series of the same name on Amazon Prime goes a step further when it comes to poking fun at existing superhero media and indirectly alludes to other franchises in a pejorative way. Therefore, it is little to no wonder that the spin-off series Gen V will attempt something similar as well.

It doesn't matter how popular a TV series is: If it costs money, the network is going to try to save money. Sometimes that means turning the second season finale of "Star Trek: The Next Generation" into a god awful clip show. Sometimes that means making the whole fourth season of the helicopter action/adventure series "Airwolf" without the original cast... or the helicopter.
In the case of the classic series "The Twilight Zone" — a critically acclaimed, Emmy-winning sci-fi/fantasy/horror anthology created by one of the most celebrated writers working in television, Rod Serling — there was no continuity, and therefore no clip show. There was no regular cast, so no regular cast to cut.
As a result, when the second season of "The Twilight Zone" turned out to be very, very expensive, the producers made a decision that barely saved any money, artistically hindered the program, and left us...

Gayle King and Charles Barkley will help break traditional barriers around news programming later this year when they launch “King Charles,” a new weekly primetime program for CNN.
The duo confirmed the move, which has been anticipated for weeks, with an announcement Saturday afternoon on TNT, a cable network that is, like CNN, owned by Warner Bros, Discovery. “King Charles” will be a one-hour, live discussion program and is set to air Wednesdays. CBS News, which counts King as one of the most prominent members of its roster of correspondents, signed off on the deal weeks ago, according to a person familiar with matter. Barkley, who recently renewed his longstanding deal with Warner Bros. Discovery’s sports division, had an easier transition.
King vowed to host a show that offers “a good conversation without tearing other people down.” Barkley said the program would not try to emulate “clickbait” that journalism...

Global streaming operation Netflix is forecast to spend $1.9 billion on local content in the Asia-Pacific region this year as group revenue from the region accelerates to 12%, according to a new report. The content investment spending figure represents a 15% hike.
Netflix will grow revenues this year by 12% year-on-year to exceed $4 billion compared with 9% growth in 2022, says a new report published on Monday by Media Partners Asia.
According to the Singapore-based research and analysis firm, Netflix’s revenue growth in 2023 will benefit from: a rebound in the lucrative but saturated Australia market, where Netflix’s performance will be gradually bolstered by advertising growth; robust levels of growth in Japan and South Korea, which generate high per user revenues; and material gains and contributions from India, Indonesia, Philippines and Thailand.

In an unusual show of consensus, reduced-price titles, a new PVOD title, and several independent films dominated all streaming charts. “Godzilla vs. Kong,” still #5 in theaters in its eighth weekend, followed its initial 31-day HBO Max play with PVOD availability. It placed #1 on both revenue sites, and was #3 and the best high-price title at those who rank by transactions.
The good news is “Godzilla vs. Kong” is thriving on PVOD at $19.99. The bad news is an awful lot of people don’t seem to be aware of the value of HBO Max, where it costs $14.99 for one month and allowed customers to see the same film in March. It suggests an ongoing marketing issue and, at the start of 2022, there will be another challenge when HBO Max customers realize that Warner Bros. titles no longer play day and date with theaters.

“It was both exciting and daunting at the same time,” admits production designer Mara LePere-Schloop about her work on “The Alienist.” Produced by Cary Joji Fukunaga (“True Detective”), this TNT limited series focuses on a newspaper illustrator (Luke Evans) who teams up with a criminal psychologist (Daniel Brühl) and a headstrong NYPD secretary (Dakota Fanning) to investigate a serial killer in 19th century New York City. On one hand, LePere-Schloop was mesmerized by “this amazing world that we were going to have the potential to build.” But on the other hand, “it was also extremely horrifying because it’s this massive, sprawling story of 1890s New York” and “a showcase of the architecture of the city, both then and now.” Watch our exclusive video interview with LePere-Schloop above.

The King Blues have always been a band that can surprise you. Just when you think what their next step is that carpet is pulled right from under your feet.
The Gospel Truth is no exception to this rule. Looking back to the previous Ep Off With Their Heads (2016), which was a mixed bag of poetry, punk and acoustic noises, The Gospel Truth takes another step in a different direction.
When I interviewed Itch (Tkb front man/singer/ukulele) he said that the band didn’t want to release the same thing over and over again, and boy they haven’t!
Opening with The Truth, The Whole Truth, the new album kicks off with a selection of the fan uploads which tell the story of their past year, how life has changed for them for better or for worse. The theme of truth continues throughout the whole album (clue is...

Woz and Harlee’s crew splintered under the weight of their own secrets and lies on Shades of Blue Season 2 Episode 7.
Can any of them survive if they’re no longer backing one another up?
When Harlee began her confession in Shades of Blue Season 2 Episode 6, I wondered just how truthful she would be. It turned out, not so much.
Wozniak: I don't know if I love you or if I hate you for what you just did.
Harlee: You and me both.
Wozniak: It was a hell of a gesture, but it doesn't absolve either of us.
Harlee: It wasn't about absolution. It was just about acknowledging what I did. They deserve to know the truth.
Wozniak: But it's not the whole truth. The FBI turned you before the heist.
Harlee: The whole truth would have broken us apart and I won't let that happen.

Are we in the midst of a Keanu Reevesaissance? He’s been around for a while, sure, but John Wick jumpstarted his career in a particularly thrilling fashion back in 2014, and now he’s starring in clever films like Knock Knock, horrible flops like Exposed, mediocre prestige dramas like The Whole Truth, and the highly anticipated John Wick sequel. Alright, most of that isn’t very exciting, but if it’s not a Reevesaissance it’s definitely a John Wickaissance.
Whatever historians will call this era of Keanu Reeves’ career, Screen Daily is reporting that he has signed on to star in Siberia, a romantic thriller about a man trying to sell diamonds in Russia who “embarks on an affair with a local woman.” Unfortunately, his attempt to sell diamonds falls through as he tries to find his missing diamond partner, whose trail he follows to—you guessed it ...
