Alessia Pontiero (Martha Roberts) was actually booked for Escapee 3: Revelations and Escapee 4: Reunited. Both series were filmed back to back and Alessia failed to turn up to filming for Escapee 4: Reunited. This resulted in the project nearly failing and so, the creators had to come up with an entirely new storyline to ensure the series worked.
