"February"
When I was asked to attend the Red Dirt Film Festival recently in Stillwater, Oklahoma for the viewing of "February ", I jumped at the opportunity. Not knowing what to except I was a bit apprehensive.
I must admit however, as soon as the film started, my frame of mind completely changed to a calmness as every aspect of this beautiful film drew me in deeper taking me into the lives of the characters. All aspects of this film is intriguing to say the least, from the characters to the setting and lighting.
I would have to say my personal, favorite part of this film was when the female lead played by Maryam Tarami, an extremely talented individual, sang a couple of lines "I want to break free". This, for me was something I could personally relate to. As with all short films, they typically end with a twist. This one certainly did that well but nothing as I had anticipated.
I give this film 9 out of 10 stars only due to the fact I wish it was full length.

February is a visually breathtaking short that depends highly on great performance to tell a powerful story. Without going into spoiler details, this movie is about freedom and how this can be rare thing for some people. I must say that I am honestly not a huge fan of short movies but plots like this can change my opinions. February is more effecting than many feature length movies. There is just something about it. One of the most striking aspects of the movie is that it is based on a true story.
Maryam Tarami is a truly gifted woman and I hope to see her in bigger Hollywood movies. I highly recommend seeing it if you get the chance.

I watched this film at the Beverly Hills Film Festival and it's high rating makes sense to me. It's a simple film that takes you on a suspenseful trip. It's a love story. Very well acted. It is very real. Yet it could include more action. I'm a movie buff and had a few problems with this film. It is good because of the performances. The storyline and rhythm are weak. The shift between locations do not make sense to me. It would be more effective with more action. This movie would be better if it was longer. I've seen better movies. Despite some missing elements, in overall a good film. It's a short film.

8.5/10 Completely forgot to review this. I saw this film at the Beverly Hills Film Festival where it won the Audience Award. The film was all about a strong message of a woman wanting freedom, and forbidden love. The acting was perfection with a wide range of emotions. It brings depth and makes the film so engaging. I actually didn't like the location switch so much, and I was quite annoyed about the lack of action. It weakens the film. The film could have been great, but lacks action. Overall, it's unique. The writing seems fine. The performance of the actors made up for the shortcomings. Not bad.
