Adele’s song, ‘Million Years Ago,’ is a powerful ballad about missing the things you enjoyed and loved when you were younger.
Sadly, people in Brazil will no longer get to take a trip down memory lane with the emotional song because it has been banned nationwide in a ruling made by Judge Victor Torres.
If the song is played in any capacity within the country, the Brazilian subsidiaries of Adele’s labels, Sony Music Entertainment and Universal Music, will be required to pay a fine of $8,000. To be clear, that is $8,000 per default. So if the song is played 10 times, Sony and Universal Music will be ordered to pay $80,000. Weird, ain’t it?
Brazilian Songwriter Accuses Adele of Plagiarism
Following a plagiarism filing by Toninho Geraes, British singer-songwriter Adele has been found to have stolen elements from Martinho Da Vila’s samba classic ‘Mulheres’ by Rio de Janeiro’s Sixth Commercial Court.

Adele Allegedly Ripped Off Song She Helped Co-write From A Brazilian Artist
English singer-songwriter Adele is apparently not having the best holidays, what with a song she co-wrote with music producer Greg Kurstin being banned from streaming and radio services in Brazil.
