Top Bollywood actor Kiara Advani will join Hrithik Roshan and Ntr Jr in the cast of Yash Raj Films’ “War 2,” Variety has learned.

Advani debuted with hit “Fugly” (2014) and has starred in several more hits since, including “M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story” (2016), “Bharath Ane Nenu” (2018), “Kabir Singh” (2019), “Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2” and “Jug Jugg Jeeyo” (both 2022). She is also known for Netflix anthology “Lust Stories” (2018) and direct-to-digital Prime Video film “Shershaah” (2021).

Warner Bros. has debuted a new trailer for Christopher Nolan’s ‘Tenet’ featuring John David Washington and Robert Pattinson.

Armed with only one word—Tenet—and fighting for the survival of the entire world, the Protagonist journeys through a twilight world of international espionage on a mission that will unfold in something beyond real-time.

Actress Kiara Advani says superstar Salman Khan asked her to change her first name because of Alia Bhatt.

Kiara revealed this in an episode of Voot's "Feet Up with the Stars Season 2", read a statement.

"Aaliya is my first name. Salman Khan suggested me to change it because of Alia Bhatt because there can't be two actresses with the same name in Bollywood," Kiara said.

"He suggested the change, but 'Kiara' is the name that I chose. Now even my parents have started to call me Kiara," she added.

The actress also spoke about how she bagged "Lust Stories" without auditioning for the role.

Recalling her experience, Kiara said: "Karan Johar has an eye for it. He spots a performer and he knows how to get it done."

When Kiara was filming for a scene with vibrator for "Lust Stories", Karan told her: "Don't make it a caricature, just be raw and do it.

Bringing back the era of World War II will be yet another film that is Tigmanshu Dhulia's Raagdesh. The film, which is supposedly based on the infamous Red Fort trials that sparked an outrage, will go on floor in Mumbai by the end of June.

The film is based on the torturous trials of ten Indian National Army officers out of which first three, namely Colonel Prem Sahgal, Colonel Gurbaksh Singh Dhillon and Major General Shah Nawaz Khan were considered to be the most celebrated ones. Kunal Kapoor of Rang De Basanti fame and Fugly boy Mohit Marwah have been roped in as two leads in the film. The schedule of the film was supposed to kick start earlier this month in Dehradun but has now been shifted to the city which will start at Film City by the end of this month.

Revealing details was the MD of Tigmanshu's company, Sujay Shankarawar, who stated that they are looking for yet one another leading man and since the film is based on 40s, the team too was required to do an extensive research on the same, hence the delay.

Earlier we had reported that Fugly actress Kiara Advani would be seen in the Abbas - Mustan directed Machine. In fact we had also reported that Kiara would be seen alongside Abbas Burmawala's son Mustafa, who will be making his acting debut with the film. Let’s first get the picture right. Contrary to what the trailers and promotional images tell, Fugly is not a Fukrey-friendly flick about four friends having a ball in life. This film means business. Light on top and substantial underneath, this is the Rang De Basanti of the post-Modi era. Thoughtful and at times brilliant, it tells us a great deal about the state of a culture and people searching for reasons to keep the spirit of nationalism alive as self-serving corruption grows all around us.

“There has to be a reason why one feels like dying for this godforsaken country of ours,” one of the four protagonists wonders aloud, as one of them virtually martyrs himself in protest against the the highhandedness of a cop who has been ruthlessly hounding and blackmailing the four protagonists.

Boxer turned actor Vijender Singh is excited for his debut film Fugly, which hits the theatres today. Tell us about how you became a part of Fugly.

Director Kabir Sadanand had to go alone for the special screening of his film Fugly which was held for the Army Jawaans in Leh. The film's core cast of Mohit Marwah, Kiara Advani, Arif Lamba and Vijender Singh had to skip the screening on Sunday specially arranged for the soldiers at the border. Explaining the cast's absence Kabir said, "At that altitude in Leh breathing normally is a problem. One needs to acclimatize oneself to the change in temperature gradually as the oxygen is less at that height. And there was no time for that for my actors. They were completely tied up with promoting the film on ground level." The show in Leh for the Army Jawaans was a grand success. Says Kabir, "Showing my film to the jawaans was one of the most memorable experiences of my film. They said Fugly was a film that made them proud.

While filmmaker Kabir Sadanand had the script in place for quite some time and was hunting for just the right makers to get it on floors, it was Dimple who formed a connect between Kabir and her son-in-law Akshay Kumar, who eventually went on to back the film. "Dimple and Kabir go back a long way, courtesy the film Tum Milo Toh Sahi that they had done way back in 2010. It didn't do great business at the box office but performances by Dimple and her co-star Nana Patekar were much appreciated. Moreover, those who saw the film found it to be a good sensitive affair. Dimple never forgot that and was in constant touch with Kabir," informs our source. A couple of years later when Kabir was ready with Fugly, he shared it with Dimple.

Talented actor Jimmy Shergill, known for his unique roles, will be seen in yet another interesting avatar. In his upcoming movie, Fugly, he will be seen effortlessly essaying the role of a ruthless, corrupt cop. This is the first time that Shergill will play an out and out negative role.

His character is named ‘Chautala’, an angry Jat who always wears a leather jacket with his signature red ‘gamcha’ wrapped around his neck. He is a dishonest police officer with a care-a-damn attitude, who runs into the four youngsters and decides to make life miserable for them.
