Kim Kidd&#39;s film is still so non-mainstream, but this time there are a lot of dialogue, the whole plot is also understandable. The film always ends up feeling a little bit worse.

This Director Kim Ki-Dook&#39; last film and truly masterpiece is the most challenging and politically movie in his works that he contributed to world of cinema. One on One is a film that analyses and criticizes today world and seeking the roots of slavery acceptance and weakness of humanity toward authorities whom run the universe with such cruelty that it seems never release and decrease. I&#39;m not intended to reveal the story line of Movie, just i can say that in about final scenes of film , the leader of group approves that despite any try and struggle from people , system of inequality will win the game. but the first victim of this self-appointed anarchistic group that now has gain a precious awareness, kills the leader not for revenge but because the leader now stifles the hope of poor and low class people and thus betrays them. and now he wears fighting clothes and replaces himself for leader. after killing the leader he looks toward the city in which oppressing in going on also unstoppable and so challenges it. Yes the fight will goes on to the end.

I watched this many years ago. At that time it felt like low budget production, so i didnt really pay much attention to it. I watch it the 2nd time recently. Now i understand the story a little better. It started off with a school girl getting murdered by a bunch of guys, and they report to their boss. Their boss then report to someone higher up. Then they cut to the other side of the story where a bunch of &#39;agents&#39; kidnapping and torturing some guys for written confession. Turns out &#39;victims&#39; are the ones who killed the girl. These agents are just regular people with their own individual problems. One of the scene seems to have abit of Fightclub vibe to it. Waiter being bullied by scumbag patron and wanted payback. They do show parts before the kidnapping where these killer have a meal with gf, wife, friend, etc.... where they casually brush off any question when being asked about their job. Shows their attitude towards nasty things they did. The leader of the agents has hidden agenda. We find out that the school girl is related to the leader of the &#39;agents&#39;. His daughter probably. The agents themselves are against each other when the leader gets overboard with his quest of justice. In the end, i think the message is about survival and ecosystem... and how messed up humans can be. But the weird thing bout this film is that one of the actor plays multiple role. Its confusing at first. He&#39;s like the abusive boyfriend, the scumbag mechanic boss, the monk, one of the killers, scumbag patron, etc. No idea why is that...

I&#39;m in a Don Lee mood and catching up with all his films that I never knew existed and thankfully a lot of them are on Tubi! This was an odd one at first as it just jumps right into the action with people being being abducted and forced into a confession (that the audience doesn&#39;t get all the details at once). There is torture and violence and most of it is from Don Lee&#39;s character so he plays a questionable character in the film. I&#39;ve seen him in more good guy roles than bad guy roles so this one was fun. It is a dark film (not what I was expecting when I started it) but it asks some really tough and interesting questions that stick with you after the End Credits. The entire cast does a good job.
