A high school boy Saburo got separated from his friends during a field trip, and traveled back in time to the 16th century. Then, he come across young Nobunaga Oda, the most powerful feudal lord in the near future. Nobunaga asks Saburo to become Nobunaga because he's already tired of his life, and they're exactly the same looks. Saburo thinks he is telling a joke, and agrees to the proposal.

Saburo learns that many boys have to go into battle in this era, so he decides that he unifies Japan as soon as possible to get rid of any war. He forms an alliance with Ieyasu Tokugawa, but he doesn't remember exactly who he is, because he was a lazy student.

Saburo met genuine Nobunaga again in a forest by the castle. Nobunaga called himself Mitsuhide Akechi, and he told Saburo that he wants to help him to unify Japan. Then, a vassal mistakenly took Nobunaga to the castle. Nobunaga makes an important decision about Ichi without asking for Saburo's permission at a meeting, it makes Saburo upset later.

Masked Nobunaga came to the castle, and he became a vassal formally as Mitsuhide Akechi. Saburo decides that he has an audience with the emperor in Kyoto to get his support, but he doesn't know anything about aristocratic manners. Mitsuhide suggests to him secretly that Mitsuhide switches with him during the negotiation, because he knows the manners.

Saburo has recovered, he got a new vassal Hisahide Matsunaga. He went shopping with Kicho to observe the life of people, and learned that people have to join the merchant union with a lot of money when they go into business. He has a negotiation with the head of merchants to realize free market economy.

Saburo approved the Christian mission. Mitsuhide is worried about strong opposition from the Buddhist monks of Enryaku-ji temple. Tokichiro changed his name to Hideyoshi Hashiba, he suspects the relationship between Saburo and Mitsuhide because he found that they have the same looks. Then, Ieyasu Tokugawa informs Saburo that Shingen Takeda and his alliance have left for Nobunaga's castle leading their big army. Saburo goes to the front leading his army.

Saburo appoints Hanbe as a messenger to the alliance of Asai and Asakura, because he wants to break the chain of hatred. However, only Hideyoshi strongly raises an objection to his idea. Tsuneoki can't decide if he should banish Saburo or not. Takugen entices Mitsuhide to take the reins of Oda clan as Nobunaga again.
