Kicking off with a tribute to the Blues Brothers from the evening’s host Jimmy Fallon, last night’s “SNL50: The Homecoming Concert” pulled out all the stops in celebrating the show’s rich musical history, as well as the influence music has had on its comedy. And though Fallon made sure to start the affair at Radio City Music Hall by pointing out that everyone in the room had some form of connection to “Saturday Night Live” and were not there as casual spectators, watching at home, its clear the production worked hard to place fans of the staple variety series right at the the center of the action as well.

The SNL 50: Homecoming Concert at Radio City Music Hall Friday was one of the starriest and genre-bending concerts in recent history.
The concert, which took place ahead of the show’s big three-hour anniversary special Sunday, saw performances from Bad Bunny, Miley Cyrus, Cher, Lady Gaga (who took took part in a musical sketch with Lonely Island and returned with a performance of “Shallow”), Nirvana, led by Post Malone, Backstreet Boys, Snoop Dog, Lauryn Hill and Wyclef, David Byrne, Arcade Fire and St. Vincent, Eddie Vedder, Devo, The White Stripes and more.
The artists who performed had a connection to SNL, as did the invite-only crowd, which was made up of those who had worked at the late night sketch show or had a connection to someone who had.

During Friday’s SNL50: The Homecoming Concert, alums Will Ferrell and Ana Gasteyer reprised the hilarious music-teaching couple they portrayed on the NBC sketch comedy show from 1996 to 2002, complete with a cover of Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Not Like Us’.
In addition to Britney Spears’ ‘Work Bitch’, Sam Smith and Kim Petras’ ‘Unholy’, Megan Thee Stallion’s ‘Body’ and Chappell Roan’s ‘Good Luck Babe’, the duo gave their rendition of Lamar’s diss track against Drake.
“Are Kenny Lamar and Drake Graham in the house, by the way? Maybe you two can hug it out tonight in the name of love and fellowship,” Ferrell’s Marty Culp joked. “No? Not in hell?”

Kylie Kelce was mercilessly bullied over her height as a teen.
Late last year, Kylie Kelce launched her podcast, which was an instant ratings hit with audiences.
Now, the wife of former NFL player Jason Kelce is introducing fans to things about her life that they never knew.
For example, she experienced vicious body-shaming for years. Why? Because she’s tall.
On her Not Gonna Lie podcast, Kylie Kelce opened up about experiencing bullying due to her height. (Image Credit: YouTube) Kylie Kelce was 5’10” as a high school freshman
While 5-foot-10 probably isn’t “tall” in the grand scheme of things, adolescent bullying isn’t about reality. It’s about finding a potential vulnerability and striking.
During a recent episode of her Not Gonna Lie podcast, the pregnant mom chatted with Drew Afualo — an influencer but also a fellow tall woman — about the process of overcoming those insecurities.

New York City has hip-hop, and Chicago has house music. Although each genre became a global phenomenon, the latter still generates far less mainstream coverage. To this day, a cloud of mystery still surrounds house music with most people largely unfamiliar with its origins and its impact. Director and producer Elegance Bratton, best known for his 2022 feature debut “The Inspection,” along with Oscar and two-time Emmy winner Roger Ross Williams set out to change that with their documentary, “Move Ya Body: The Birth of House Music,” which premiered at Sundance.
Named after the 1986 Marshall Jefferson classic “Move Your Body,” widely considered the house music anthem, Bratton begins the doc with a postcard-worthy nighttime image of the city with “Chicago” in yellow letters emblazoned in the middle. Easing into the meat of the documentary, a nightclub becomes the focal point as the pulsating sounds of “Move Your Body” play as an...

DC Studios co-ceo James Gunn recently shared our first official look at Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow via a behind-the-scenes image, and if you're familiar with Tom King's acclaimed DC Comics miniseries of the same name, the setting of the photo will likely have looked very familiar.
The shot features star Milly Alcock in a hoodie (Kara will almost certainly be in-costume for this scene in the movie), facing what looks a lot like a bar counter. In the Woman of Tomorrow comic, the Girl of Steel and her companion, Ruthye, take a little break from their revenge mission and travel to a space-bar for a drink.
Here, Kara is confronted by an alien who blames her for her cousin Superman imprisoning his brothers in the Phantom Zone. As you might expect, the altercation doesn't work out so well for the instigator.

In August, the social media account for a new K-Pop group posted “Meovv” with five black cat emojis and an animated graphic of a cat’s paw. The not-so-cryptic post was the first for the highly anticipated girl group Meovv — a quintet from iconic Korean producer Teddy Park’s Theblacklabel.

Though we still haven't had an official announcement, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow is now filming in London, and THR has shared the news of two late casting additions.
David Krumholtz (Oppenheimer) and Emily Beecham (Into The Badlands) have joined the production as Kara Zor-El's parents, Zor-El and Alura In-Ze.
Update: The original report only mentions that Beecham and Krumholtz are playing "Supergirl's parents," so there's a chance they have actually been cast as Kara's human adoptive parents, Jeremiah and Eliza Danvers.
The trade has also confirmed that Milly Alcock will make her Dcu debut as the Girl of Steel in James Gunn's Superman.
While speaking to Omelette.com in a recent interview, Gunn said he had no intention of making Kara Zor-El's solo outing the second Dcu film until he read the script by actress and playwright Ana Nogueira.

For the week of January 20-24, Days of Our Lives spoilers focus on nabbing Lady Whistleblower. Chad continues to support Julie through her grief, and Salem’s couples experience a range of emotions and situations.
Next Week On Days of Our Lives
We’re headed into the home stretch of this Fake Lady Whistleblower story. Kerry (Derek Yates) is the culprit, and now Leo (Greg Rikaart) knows it. So it won’t be surprising to find out that the Body & Soul Head Writer accuses Kerry in front of Javi (Al Calderon). Actually, the accusations started in Friday’s episode when Leo barged into Javi’s bedroom. Will Kerry immediately cop to being the anonymous blogger? He may have no choice now that Leo (with help) has connected the dots.
Leo making his case must go well. Because it isn’t long after this Lady W drama that Leo and Javi discuss their relationship.

Days of Our Lives always has fun, sometimes obscure pop-culture references interspersed in the characters’ dialogue. In December 2022, an eagle-eyed fan on X, formerly Twitter, noticed a mention of the president of Salem’s city council as being Cass Winthrop. This was a nod to the Another World character of the same name. Stephen Schnetzer played Cass from 1982 until 1999 and recently reprised his Days role as Steven Olson. Now comes another reference to an old soap. And the fans were on top of it.
Lady Whistleblower’s Bank Gave It Away
On the January 7 episode of Days, Stephanie (Abigail Klein) implored Chad (Billy Flynn) to tell her the identity of the new Lady Whistleblower, whose articles are endangering the soap-within-a-soap called Body & Soul. Chad went on about privacy issues and admitted that the person submitted articles anonymously. However, Steph convincingly argued that the articles were hit pieces, not just opinions.

Jennifer's Body has surprisingly found an unlikely spiritual successor fifteen years later in a new comic series: The Creeping Below. When Karyn Kusama and Diablo Cody's horror comedy, Jennifer's Body, hit theaters in 2009, the film received a pretty mixed reception. The film has since gained a cult following despite its bad Rotten Tomatoes score, and now a new horror comic is playing with its original concept to tell a new story.
The Creeping Below by Brian Azzarello and Vanesa R. Del Rey is a new horror series published by Boom! Studios that follows a woman named Val who attends a music festival in Oslo, Norway. She's described as a person who loves hardcore metal music, which leads her to a performance by a local group.

Tennessee native Megan Fox has been on the Hollywood scene for decades, and the actor’s 2024 net worth has accumulated to impressive heights. Fox's very first feature film was Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen (2004), where she played Lindsay Lohan’s rival, Carla. However, it was the high-octane action movie Transformers (2007) that gave Fox her big break, playing Mikaela Banes — a role she reprised in the sequel, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009). She's also famous for her role as the titular villain in the criminally underrated Jennifer's Body (2009).
Fox was born in Oak Ridge, Tennessee to parents Gloria and Franklin Fox. At age 17, Fox moved to Los Angeles to pursue her acting career. Offscreen, Fox got engaged to Beverly Hills, 90210 star Brian Austin Green in 2006 after they met on the set of Hope & Faith. They were eventually married in 2010. Together, they have three sons, born in 2012, 2014, and 2016. Fox...

The recent sci-fi thriller hit trending on Netflix, Subservience, gives Megan Fox a great new villain role that is strikingly similar to one of her most underrated roles from 15 years ago. Subservience follows the characters of Nick and his family buying a robot, Alice, who is intended to help them with housework. However, as the movie progresses, Alice becomes more and more sinister and attempts to seduce Nick and get rid of his wife, Maggie. In Subservience's thrilling ending, Alice's actions have ramifications surrounding all AI, showcasing Megan Fox's talent for portraying subversive villains.
Following the lead of similar sci-fi movies like I, Robot, Subservience examines the possibility of sentient robots and the destruction they could bring, with the added twist of Alice's infatuation with Nick. Subservience has already become one of Megan Fox's best roles, especially considering the questions it raises about AI. The movie also serves as...

Megan Fox's new sci-fi thriller with a 50% Rotten Tomatoes score has landed on Netflix's global chart. Following early supporting roles in Holiday in the Sun, Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen, and the ABC sitcom Hope & Faith, Fox rose to fame on the back of her breakout role as Mikaela Banes in Michael Bay's blockbuster, Transformers. Though she reprised her role in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, she didn't return for any of the following sequels.
She did, however, play April O'Neil in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and its sequel, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows, produced by Michael Bay. Following her departure from the Transformers movies, Fox began experimenting with roles in other genres, such as horror, playing the titular character in Jennifer's Body, and appearing in the fifth and sixth seasons of the Fox sitcom New Girl. While Ghosts has a lot of good guest stars, I still can’t get over how cleverly self-referential the CBS sitcom’s best season 2 guest role proved. The ghosts of CBS’s Ghosts give the sitcom a lot of opportunities to make historical jokes, but not all of these gags are concerned with far-flung periods in history, like the Viking invasions or the Revolutionary War. Flower’s Ghosts storylines feature a lot of jokes about the counterculture of the ‘60s, while Pete’s obsession with ‘80s pop culture is central to his bond with Sam’s husband Jay.

Days of our Lives spoilers for the two weeks of December 2-December 13 tease the returns that keep on coming as Salem bids farewell to Doug.
Salem Says Goodbye
There has been a rollercoaster of emotions lately in Salem between heartwarming returns and a heartbreaking farewell. While Eli (Lamon Archey), Lani (Sal Stowers), Jack (Matthew Ashford), and Jennifer (Melissa Reeves) all returned for Thanksgiving, things took a devastating turn when they learned of Doug’s (the late Bill Hayes) passing.
On the other side of Salem, Rafe (Galen Gering) announced he’d be going back to his roots in the Pi business at Black Patch, and his first assignment is finding the identity of the new Lady Whistleblower, who has spilled spoilers about Body & Soul to their readers. That was just one of the many ways the soap felt cursed, with others being sent poisoned cupcakes and Johnny’s (Carson Boatman...

Did Megan Fox pass on roles due to s*x scenes? ( Photo Credit – Instagram )
In 2016, Megan Fox spilled tea, revealing that she had turned down some “good projects” because they felt inappropriate for her little ones. “I don’t think my children should ever see me doing some of that stuff,” she said, and honestly? Respect.
One of the roles she rejected? A big HBO project about a prostitute with scenes that were, well, more porn than plot. “The women are required to do things in the movie, which are things I can’t have my sons ever know or see,” she told The Sun on Sunday. Megan didn’t sugarcoat it either, calling the content “degrading” and drawing a firm line in the Hollywood sand.
For Megan, it’s not just about what she does on screen—it’s about what her kids could eventually stumble upon. “They can...

Megan Fox, the actress whose work quickly turned famous during the Aughts due to the Transformers franchise, became a symbol of feminist thought and queer representation with Jennifer’s Body. The dialogue surrounding the film put Fox at the center of controversy, although the film certainly earned back its reputation and became a cult classic over time.

However, Fox’s 2009 movie did not go over well with the critics at the time for being symbolic of defiance and resistance among the youth. But with its surge in popularity and the current volatile socio-political climate, some consider that a sequel to Jennifer’s Body would be a very timely choice. Megan Fox, however, does not want anything to do with the plan.

Thai film director Paween Purijitpanya has directed “Tomorrow and I,” a four-part anthology series for Netflix. It covers topics including cloning, prostitution, religion and global warming.
The series expands the streamer’s roster of Thai content and represents its first from the country in the sci-fi register. The show will upload from Dec. 4.
Purijitpanya is known for his previous films including “Body,” “Phobia,” “Phobia 2” and “Ghost Lab.” He also directed Gmm series “Girl From Nowhere.” “[‘Making ‘Tomorrow and I’] was challenging because everything had to be newly created — the appearance of the city, clothing, technology, and the shape of various devices. Despite its popularity in the 2000s, Charlie Sheen’s Two and a Half Men has often garnered heavy scrutiny following its handling of certain subject matters, which hasn’t aged well with time. Even though the show is very much a product of its time, this doesn’t make it immune to criticism, especially the discourse surrounding the sitcom’s problematic undertones.

One thing that really boils blood for worldwide anime fans, aka “weebs”, is the modern Westernization of anime that’s taking over the Japanese art form. This has become more than just a simple annoyance since it even threatens to erase and replace the soul and spirit of anime, removing the very reason why we started to love this medium.

Unnecessary violence, prioritizing flashy effects over meaningful storytelling, all of these Western cinematography tropes have continued to disgust true anime fans. This isn’t just speculation anymore, examples of how several famous anime series were ruined in the hands of the West have been aplenty. Quite unsurprisingly, this recent anime announcement also does not do well in mending things between fans.

Spoiler Alert: This column contains spoilers for Season 3 of “Heartstopper,” now streaming on Netflix.
The first two seasons of “Heartstopper,” Netflix’s popular YA series, were about falling in love. In Season 2 of “Heartstopper,” viewers watched the quiet and unsure Charlie Spring (Joe Locke) and his new boyfriend, the self-assured and protective Nick Nelson (Kit Connor), navigate their new relationship. In Season 3, in episodes revolving around mental wellness, sex and significant life changes, creator Alice Oseman — adapting her own graphic novels — focuses on the work relationships require, and what it means to thrive or perish as new feelings and expectations are unearthed.
Sex is a major theme in Season 3. Charlie and Nick have sex for the first time, and their friends, Elle (Yasmin Finney) and Tao (William Gao), also take their romance to the next level. However, Oseman doesn’t simply offer up gratuitous scenes of teens allowing their hormones...

Unsolved mysteries have tantalized us with mysteries for years. The show first aired in the late 80s, lighting up our screens with tales of missing folks, baffling crimes, and paranormal phenomena. Now, after a reboot on Netflix, it’s returned with a fourth volume of intriguing cases.
This new season takes us inside five unsolved mysteries. We journey to 19th-century London to reexamine the grisly killings attributed to Jack the Ripper. Were his crimes ever solved? In another episode, a woman is found dead in her basement—but was it murder or misfortune? A severed head surfaces in the woods too, tied to a disturbing black market. And in a college theater, a young woman met her demise—but who was responsible? The season also probes strange happenings in Illinois connected to an enigmatic winged entity.
Each mystery gets in-depth dissection. Experts, investigators, and witnesses give their perspectives. Reenactments put us at the scenes.
