Director Erik Matti wanted Lovi Poe to reprise her role as Sonia for a two-day shooting as part of her contractual obligation to do a sequel. But when Poe demanded a higher fee and negotiation fizzled out, Hannah Ledesma was cast in for the role.
Roselle Y. Monteverde, brother of producer Ronald Stephen Monteverde, said Lovi does not want to be part of the project because she is uncomfortable working with Dingdong Dantes, whose fiancée, Marian Rivera, allegedly gave Lovi a cold shoulder. Dantes denied the allegation saying he and Lovi are even working together at least three times a week on a taping for a TV series called "Ang Dalawang Mrs. Real."
In playing his role, KC Montero looks into the character of Nicolas Cage in Face-off and the Joker in various Batman movies.
Co-producer Ronald Stephen Monteverde said Leo Dominguez, the manager of Lovi Poe, had assured three times that the actress would be doing the film. Poe's camp initially demanded P400,000 for a two-day shot, a far cry from her 15-day talent fee of P200,000 in the first Aswang movie. Producer Jose Mari Abacan was able to negotiate with P90,000 per day. Despite this, the deal did not materialize.
