If you want to have a great time, laugh like mad, and also enjoy spoofs of soap operas (which are spoofs almost in themselves), you have to watch Dropping the Soap.
This show overdoes everything that soap operas already overdo and takes them beyond the limits of your comedic imagination.
The acting is great (and over the top), the writing/scripts are great (and over the top), the sets are great (and over the top), and pretty much everything else is perfect also.
I don't want to give away too much, but in each 10 minute or so episode, there is drama, intrigue, comedy and soap opera silliness. The synopsis is that the show is a failing soap opera and Jane Lynch comes in to save the show. Her idea of saving is pretty much the opposite of everyone's on the show and that is where the drama and intrigue starts and builds. Add to absurd relationships and love affairs, people trying to save their jobs and get others fired, and the "secret" of at least one of the actors, and you are ready for some serious popcorn eating fun!
Definitely see this and enjoy. I've watched it a few different times and always see something new and find another laugh or two. I'm gonna go watch it again right now!
