During Nucky's executive meeting about the end of Prohibition that takes place in 1931, there is a reference to the building of Rockefeller Center. The 22 acre Manhattan landmark was built over a period of nine years (1930-1939.)

Goofs
In the last episode Commodore says that no kids are allowed on the wood porch on the beach but in this episode several kids are seen running and playing on the porch while Commodore stands there and sings to the ladies.

this episode and the one before is the best television in years

This review won't be long but I have to say that I am mighty impressed.

The flashbacks are great to conclude this epic television show in this fifth and final season. But it's the "present" story that really carries these two episodes, in my opinion. Anyway, Boardwalk Empire episode one and two are the best I have seen on the television set since the last two episodes of season three. Steve Buschemi, Michael Shannon, Stephen Graham, Vincent Piazza are all excellent along with the entire crew and the whole production. I would recommend this season even to newcomers. The quality is so high that it beats most AAA movies. Now let us just hope that the grand finale is spectacular.
