Some fight scenes were amazing but general arrangement and set were no good

An American sci-fi adventure; A story about a boy who discovers he has superhuman strength and fighting skills and sets out to find the people responsible for his nightmare headaches. A poor stand-alone sci-fi action film, part of the "Maze Runner" film series. None of the characters are written compellingly enough for the viewer to root for. Slow and speeded-up motion techniques can't disguise a boring, plotless martial arts and sci-fi mishap of style over substance.

REVIEW - KILL ORDER

When I watch a film I make it a point NOT to see any previous reviews or their scores, so upon reading the description of this film I thought I'd give it a look see.

Lesson learnt, this is a film to avoid, the acting is dire,the story just silly and the ending, whilst leaving it open for a sequel (which I hope never gets made) is just a complete waste of your time watching the film in the first place.

This has been the easiest review I've ever written!

One saving grace for this film are the fight sequences which are outstanding, such a shame they were encased in the rest of the film.

What can I say here that is good? Good fight scenes? They are decent, but the complete lack of plot turns the movie into a meaningless string of fight scenes, so much so that even the pretty good fight scenes eventually become totally boring. There is simply no point in them. The voices and sound quality are awful (not the music, the sound). Then, the "ending", if you could call it that. It's not a cliff hanger setting up a sequel. That could easily be forgiven. Nope, it just ends mid sentence.

The acting is worse than wet cardboard and the plot is written on toilet paper. It's simply a kid getting the shite beat out of him before he hallucinates and his eyes glow and he wins every fight. It's boring. By the 4th fight, I was like, ok, when will his eyes glow? There they are. Now he'll win. And that's the entire plot of the movie. Eyes glow, boy wins. And I say boy.... the hero actor would be fine in other roles, but we're expected to look at the fittest, muscular blokes beat the shite out of this twig of a kid who could unleash a fury of thumb in fist beatings on anyone in a gym for more than 2 months without feeling anything, and we are expected to believe he's a lethal weapon. It's quite unbelievable.

Save yourself the time, don't watch this. Use the hour to take a walk with your dog, pet your cat, play a video game, or drill your own teeth with an awl, they would all be more pleasurable than having to watch this film.

This was by far the worse movie I've seen in years. The action was ok but poorly done. The plot of the movie was not to been seen. The story left you with no answers and the it seemed to just end. I guess they ran out of money, It's more like a audition of fighting skills for a chance at a real movie.

The movie was so much potential with a young fresh face actors. I'm sure the lack of budget had a lot to do with small over sites that are so simple to fix. Poorly directed very cheesy. The music for the Fight sequences just make you want to stab yourself in the ear

This must be the first in the series. If you pay attention you will catch on to what is going on. If you haven't been the end, it becomes obvious, but I won't spoil it. Is it the best movie, no, but it was well worth the 80 mins. Solid fight scenes, story is developing but this is a series, but who knows if they'll make more.

I hate it when I invest my time in a movie that's interesting enough to keep me watching, but has absolutely no payoff. What was this, a pilot for a lengthy TV series? (Although with a lot more blood than would be allowed on TV.) There is so much in here that is unexplained. Is this intended to be a movie franchise? Good luck getting anyone to watch another one.

I was impressed by the fight choreography although they did overdo the slo-mo quite a bit. The guy is entertaining to watch but is The Unkillable Protagonist. Other, helpful people are killed out of the blue and we don't even care because there is no backstory at all. Oh there are a lot of crazy flashbacks, none of which make any sense.

The sets are obvious cheap sets. The visual effects are adequate but could probably be done in Photoshop nowadays. The music is a bunch of jumbled generic stuff that you could get off of a disc of samples.

Don't waste your time.

Hollywood stunt-man James Mark debuts his first film as producer, director and writer , and casts his also stunt-man younger brother Chris Mark in his first lead role in this visually stunning indie martial-arts action sci-fi film.

James' directing of this film was exceptional, as was the cinematography and visually stunning sets. Chris' fight scenes (there are many of them) were well executed and got the adrenaline going, and his acting was very decent for his first lead role.

The writing had some plot and story issues, evident in the screenplay from the convoluted flashbacks and missing pieces of the story. Perhaps the editing department cut some scenes that should have been left in, especially since the film was only 77 min long.

My other issue was costume department... some of the (ninja?) outfits seemed loosely put together, and for having such eye catching sets, the poor costume choices stood out, particularly the 'Men in Black' sunglasses that were a little overboard and cheapened the production.

Nevertheless and surprisingly, I really enjoyed this film and would see it again and recommend it. I'm hoping there's a part 2 in the works.

The Mark brothers have successfully evolved their repertoire from Hollywood stunt-men in this visually captivating indie film.

A well deserved 8/10 from me.

The movie at first blush has the look and feel of a great movie. However, the plot, to its detriment, is readily evocative of much better films. And taken line by line, the Matrix-esque dialogue is fun to listen to. That said, the dialogue provides no continuity to a greater story.

The special effects are of a remarkably respectable quality for an indie movie. And the fight scenes, to be fair, are top notch.

However, the plot is convoluted and at times incomprehensible. Perhaps as the first installment of some sort of trilogy, you might forgive the countless loose ends and unanswered questions. But as a stand alone film, the movie simply parades a number of cardboard cut outs throughout the movie and expects us to care. Sorry. Not so fast.

The fight screams are the only thing good in the movie. I have no idea what the movie was about. Just someone w/skilled powers to fight and wants revenge. it just ends. No explanation, It just ends. I gave it 4 stars for the fight scenes

Literally. Unbelievable. They were great to watch don't get me wrong. But I'm struggling with the rest. I'm one of those guys that can watch anything and enjoy it. This isn't anything. I give two starts because the fight scenes are so good. Everything else. Not so much.

I couldn't even finish it. Terrible writing, fight scenes are ridiculous, plot is pointless and absurd.

This is a low budget sci-fi martial arts movie that could have delivered more. The fight sequences were a bit off the wall. The movie suffered mostly from a poor script and a story line that tried to remain somewhat shadowed but ended up being a bit too vague and obtuse.

This movie is so bad I would rather watch The Recall for 5 hours and it was bad!

The reality of this film is that a bunch of stunt people who are friends got together and made a martial arts fight film. Think Young Adult Fiction (Hunger Games, Twilight, etc.) meets Jet Lee with a dash of The Matrix.

So, fights and stunts - Good: Well choreographed. Visually entertaining. Bad: As another reviewer said, you know who's going to win. Just wait for the eyes to glow. So a little anticlimactic there. Plus digital blood splatters. I like my violence old-style please. Also, could've been a little more graphic overall. The "bad people" fighters were up to the task. Some very good work.

Hero: Great screen presence. Good facial reactions. Acting will improve with more experience. And certainly physically up to the role. Fun to watch.

Big Evil Villain: Terrible acting. Dubbing? I couldn't quite tell. Awful line readings. Really added nothing special to the proceedings.

Plot: Opaque. Obfuscated. Therefore just a stupid mechanism to have action. Could have and should have done a lot better. And the dialog? AArrgghh!!

Style: While obviously done on a very low budget, big props to the cinematography and lighting. They worked miracles with what they had.

Direction: I believe this was written and directed by the star's brother. Shame on him for the writing, but the direction was good for the resources available. Maybe the director should stick with just directing.

Overall, a lower decent effort. A short film at an hour and 17 minutes with credits. I would be inclined to watch a sequel assuming someone else wrote it, the Big Evil Villain was played by another actor, but the hero and crew was the same.

This is the second coming of Mortal Kombat we always wanted and never got. You'll overlook the low budget, simple plot and basic sound effects for truly some of the greatest action choreography I've ever seen. This is a very cool movie with sci-fi elements that is a lot like a video game or anime. Fans of movies like Bleeding Steel, or Tekken will love this.

This isn't a great movie but it's a good time killer, I don't feel like I wasted 77 minutes of my life. The fight scenes are good, the characters have enough development that they don't feel pointless and the plot has enough substance that it's interesting and the acting is good. One star above neutral.

It's worth it just for the fight sequences-Mark is really GREAT! He's not a bad actor. There's nothing bad about this movie, and it makes me want to see more of the star. Now, onto "Enhanced!"
