Watch Out I'm the Lady Boss

The guy with the rpg at the Gala made my day. And apparently reviews need to be at least 300 words so I better add some fill in just like the mini series and I could also occasionally slap someone as they dramatically enter the review but alas I am on my own.

Would I recommend any watch this? In the most simple answer "No".

I just love it. The chemistry of both leading actors got us thrilled. Looking forward for another mini series of Candace Mizga and Brando White in the future. The script and cast is amazing. A tough lead is a brilliant choice it really suit for Candace to portray the character of Eleonor and be called as "lady thunder", her aura and the way she deliver herself in this act she definitely nailed it.

The acting is so over the top. Plays out like a satirical spoof film. The script is full of endless insulting that seems to just be written in to make a 10 minute story long enough to have some ads thrown in and call it a mini series. Redundant and intelligent dialogue. The writers had to be bi polar or menopausal.

"Watch Out, I'm the Lady Boss" begins promisingly - two strangers meet on a plane, one a powerful CEO, the other secretly a global powerhouse. Brando White plays Sebastian, the CEO of the Whitmore family business, trying to escape an arranged marriage to Sylvia Caldwell (Jennifer Gionfriddo, excellent in her brief appearance). Candace Mizga's Eleanor, unknown to everyone, is the head of the Thunder Group, returning from five years in Africa after building her charity empire in secret.

Eleanor's former boyfriend (Keegan Hughes) has moved on - despite her funding his PhD and recommending him for his Whitmore job - and is now with Margaret (Ally Ledford, solid performance). The story spends far too much time on an endless event honoring him - episode after episode filled with ridicule, slapping, and overdone humiliation scenes that slow the story's heartbeat.

What kept me watching was the potential spark between Sebastian and Eleanor. Brando and Candace look amazing together - the chemistry is there, simmering just beneath the surface - but the show never lets it ignite. Two kisses. That's it. Such a waste of potential sizzle! These two need to headline a real romance next time - the screen would catch fire.

Brando delivers as the refined yet emotionally contained CEO, while Candace shines as the elegant mastermind hiding behind her calm confidence. She's poised, beautiful, and convincing as a woman who could out-strategize anyone in the room.

Overall, I wanted to love this. The setup was intriguing, the leads strong, but the pacing dragged and the emotional payoff never came. I finished it purely to see Brando and Candace bloom - and though they did, briefly, I was left craving the romance this story promised but never delivered.

For the percentage of runtime devoted to stupidly repetitive antagonism in one film. In fact, there is almost no plot arc development for the protagonist characters....they have one scene at the beginning where they meet and one half scene at the end. Just about everything in between is a film devoted to having the supporting cast act stupidly while they just stand there. Some of the supporting cast are quite theatrically good at being idiots, but idiots nonetheless. The protagonists looked attractive together, but the romantic element in the screenplay was virtually non-existent. And when they finally are in position to exact their revenge at the end, the antagonists are allowed to just walk away. A totally unsatisfying watch in its entirety and a waste of 2 attractive leads.
