The Jones is a culturally relevant zombie tale which turns the genre on its head. The Jones is a zombie world. They have homes, jobs and families. But they're zombies. In this world, the children get sick and "turn" human. And in their society consumption of humans is legal.
The film is a metaphor for both the social paradox of the family unit and how modern society is filled with families that exist like zombies. But it also has a relevant message about the consumption of youthful innocence. Nobody likes to talk about it, but this is a world of human trafficking, child abuse and other atrocities toward the innocent. This film also has an anti-bullying message.
The Jones name itself is a caricature of the modern American household. Though the film may be short on gore, it makes up for it in socially relevant metaphor.
