The film was shot in 3 days.
Samberg had played tennis in his youth, but he did not train for the film. Harington took one lesson the day before filming began.
The film is based on the real-life 2010 1st round Wimbledon match between John Isner and Nicolas Mahut, which lasted 11 hours and 5 minutes and took 3 days to complete. Isner won the 5th set 70-68.
This marks the acting debut of real-life Swedish TV-host Filip Hammar.
