      In 1984, Vince McMahon bought the promotion and aired WWF matches in the timelsot. The July 14 episode on which McMahon appeared to make the announcement is known to fans as "Black Saturday". The ratings dropped tremendously and McMahon sold the show to NWA promoter Jim Crockett Jr.. The show became WCW Saturday Night (1985).
