G.I. Joe: Valor vs. Venom (2004)
I miss the original series
This is an all new GI Joe adventure for an all new generation, so I shouldn't expect the same things. With that said, I still somewhat enjoyed this, but the use of CG instead of hand drawn animation really took away from it. It's not the worst CG I've seen, it was actually pretty good for a direct to DVD release, but it just seemed too different from the cartoons and comics to have it feel like the same series. Despite these problems, at a mere 77 minutes, I was able to sit and just enjoy it as a free rental since the story itself was still classic Joe. If you want to rent something GI Joe, rent the original season, unless you want something new, but it won't hurt to watch it with a younger kid or relative.
Don't Mess with My Sister! (1985)
A horrible movie with no point.
This movie is definitely one of the worst movies I have seen. It takes about an hour before anything happens that would lead to any conflict, and then just when it looks like things are going to pick up, it just ends. Nothing gets resolved, all the plot points brought up don't conclude, nothing happens. It just goes on for 85 minutes to have NO POINT. Barely any violence, either. This so called "Revenge flick" has barely any of the sort. Avoid this movie at all costs.
X-Men (2000)
Best Comic to Movie ever!
I just got back from a sneak preview midnight screening of this movie and I just had to comment on this. This was hands down the best comic made into a movie ever! I have been a fan of the comics for years, starting reading comics at a very young age, and X-Men has always been one of my favorites. Now, as a "hardcore fan" I feel that we tend to be the most critical to a movie, and I feel they did a spectacular job making it. The special effects are great, there is action, there is drama, even some humor, and there is actually a cool story. I thought some things could have been explained a little better for people who weren't familiar with the comics, but it was still good, and had plenty of in-jokes that the comic book fans would get. I feel that everyone looking for a good super-hero movie, or a good action/drama should go out and see this now.
