I only saw this because my wife has it on DVD. I thought Anne Hathaway did a fine job as did Meryl Streep and Emily Blunt. However as we all know Streep's portrayal is based on Anna Wintour, who is the Editor for "Vanity Fair".
Because my mind is in tune with the culture and politics, I just saw this film in another way: all of these snoots at Runway love humanity, but they hate people. And in real life--especially in the one party city of NY--they all vote Democrat. This is not just sophistry: Anna Wintour refused to put Melania Trump on the cover of "VF". So much for the party for the "little people".
