Theodore Rex (1995)
A go Whoopie, A go Whoopie
I watched this movie at 4 am all groggy just to pass the time, and i fell in love with it. This movie is how about different people can become friends. Roy from dinosours (Earls best friend), plays the dinosour in this movie. This is a non stop laugh riot. For some reason it kind of reminded me of that classic cartoon "Street Sharks". Maybe its the whole justing thing. Anyway, if you liked The Godfather, you might like this.
P.U.N.K.S. (1998)
Horrible, but somehow i loved it
This movie was so stupid but so fun. We couldn't stop laughing at the theme song "We are the Punks". That fat kid from the Sandlot should of been Golden Globe nominated. When he got that super strength in the bar it was so cool. The Fanz gives an OK performance, but i think he might of been miscast. Randy Quaid does his normal good job. Kids will love this movie. IT teaches kids about friendship, and how to ride a bike on the freeway. Look for Jessica Alba before she made it big. Overall B-.
Behind the Waterfall (1995)
I was expecting more
The movie started off pretty good but i lost interest as the story went along. I know the actress who played Alex, and I dont think she was living up to her full potential. She does much better in school skits. The guy who plays Radar in MASH is in it so thats a plus. Overall i give this movie C-.
Willie the Operatic Whale (1946)
The whale you love to hate
This movie was interesting. When I first started watching it, i had no idea what was going to happen. Then it started getting good. It was ridiculous but thats half the fun of animation. The ending comes a big shock to all so get the tissues ready. The whale just couldn't fit in with the human world. No matter how wonderful his voice was. I think he would of been happier in the ocean with his seagull friend. Over all a pretty good cartoon.
Born on the Fourth of July (1989)
Ridgefield Wa
A realy good movie. Oliver Stone is my favorite director and he makes a suberb film. Cruise is a fine actor and he deleivers a powerful performance. My favorite part of the film is before he goes to war. The part where he and his friends are playing war in the woods. Also where he runs to the prom in a soaking white T-shirt. This was a great movie but it is no Platoon.
Trail Mix-Up (1993)
Funny
This short was very funny. I like the Droopy scenes. Every Roger Rabbit short has a cameo by Jessica, and this one does too. It is a very funny one. I wish they would make more of these Roger Rabbit shorts, but I can only find three. Oh well do yourself a favor don't miss this one.
Saved by the Bell (1989)
Good Show
This show was fun and very entertaining. Evryone is a gripping because it wasnt realistic, who would want to see a kid just sitting there learning Algerbra. Boring!
This is very unrealistic but thats what made it fun. Zach was a preppy who was always girl chasing. Screech was a nerd who had some of the funniest lines ever. Kelly was ugly but was considered the hottest girl in Bayside? Lisa was shallow. Slater was a jock. And Jessy reminds me of Dana from Step by Step.
This show brought a lot of laughs and will always be enjoyed.
Magnolia (1999)
Great, Absoulutly Great
This film was pieced together perfectly. Thats not an easy job for a three hour movie. Evrything fits to gether in the end and I was glad I had seen it despite what some people say.
It is about a bunch of people in California and their lives. They are all having problems and have to face them. Tom Cruis hides from his problems by pretending to be some big sexis tough guy. William H. Macy, in a great performance, is an alcoholic who is pathetic has been. He hides his problems throwing his money away to impress some bar tender. He thinks this will bring him happiness. "I have love to give, and I WILL be good to you!" he screams.
These are just two of the many stories.
What makes this movie great is that it leaves you to wonder so much. Also the performances are absolutly terific by the entire cast. Especialy by Willam Macy, Julian Moore, John C. Riely, and most of all Phylip Seymore Hoffman who almost stole every scene he was in.
P. S. The greatest scene, in my opinion is where they are all singing. Watch Macy's eyes! What a great actor.
An Officer and a Gentleman (1982)
Great
This is a great movie. I am happy that Grossit won an Oscar for this. The story is very moving. Richard Gere gives a great performance as Mayo. Debra Winger is OK. But David Kieth would have stolen the show if it were not for Grossit. The music is also an important part of the show. This is a great movie that does not seem to be going out of style.
Also great performance from that one guy who is also in Married with Children. He should have been up for the oscar too.
7th Heaven (1996)
Terrible
This is one of the worst shows ever. I cant stand it. I watch sometimes just to laugh at it. This is the most unrealistic show ever. Even more then Step by Step, but at least that was funny. Every thing about it so far off.
First of all there are like 7 kids living in this big nice house with nice clothes and everything all off a Preist salary.
Second, the mom like most TV moms is rediculous. But the mom here takes the case.
Third, nobody and I mean nobody acts like this family does. This is the most cutsie poo family ever and it makes me sick.
Most of all I cant stand Simon. What the heck is with his hair. In any other school he'd been beat up several times by now.
Please WB do us all a favor and take this off the air. And we will all pretend like this series never happened.
Unhappily Ever After (1995)
Saved By Nikki
This show is almost a complete rip off of Married With Children. Except this show is worse. The jokes are not funny except for Mr. Floppy, and the characters are just dumb, except for Mr. Floppy. With all this against it I still try to watch it whenever I can. There is just something about it that I love to see. OH I know, it's the gorgeous red head running around in tank-tops, and mini skirts. I can not think of any other reason to see this garbage. Nikki Cox saved this show. I could watch her act any time.
Acording to the her IMDB web site she has her own show coming out called Nikki I cant find anything on it though
The Simpsons (1989)
Great but dying Out
This show is my favoriot show ever. Everything is so clever and funny. Or at least it used to be. The last season and a half it has sometimes just been stupid. The middle six episodes were some of the funniest things I have ever seen. Latly it has been so unreal it is not fun to watch. In the middle seasons the show made fun of things that were realistic and happen to all the time, now Homer just acts so crazy and the plots are just bouncing off the walls. Let me show you an example.
In one episode in the good seasons, Bart needs money for a comic book. So he works for some old lady. This turns into a series of hilarious events. Such as making Bart take some candy then all the candy sticks together, or Bart having to pull the weeds and there are hundreds. Little gags like that made it enjoyable. In a recent episode a bad one, Homer becomes a truck driver. This is all ready rediculous. Then there is a machine that does the driving for him. Then he does a flip over a convoy and lands saftly. At the end it seems like the writers just gave up on having any good ending so they end the show with him driving a nuclear train back to Springfield. Pathetic attempt for some cheap laughs.
This show is still my favorite show and I never want it to go off. I love all the characters from Krusty to Willie. But I hope in the future the show will go back to being humor people can relate to.
The ButterCream Gang (1992)
This was terrible
This movie was horrible from beginning to end. This "small town" was the most unrealistic setting I have ever seen! The kids were sapost to be heroes but they were all losers and fat dorks. The bad kid Pete was your regular guy, he shouldn't steel but everything else about him was all right. It had no point to it. The acting was horrible. It did not keep your attention at all, like other kid movies such as Aladdin or Free Willie. This was just bad. I could not see any kids enjoying this because they would not understand whats going on.
Reservoir Dogs (1992)
OK but too gruesome
This movie was a good movie but it seems to me the only way Mr. Tarintino can keep our attention is by cusing every 10 seconds or by killing someone very violently. His scripts are very original and this I like. He takes grungy low life thugs and can turn them in to heros. In this movie he does exactly that. But the whole time I was watching this I couldn't help thinking whats the point. I like the opening scene but everything was downhill from there. Steve Buscimi does a well done job as the wormish kind of guy. Harvy Keitell was wasted here I think. Dont get me wrong I like his work but he was pretty boring in this film. I wouldnt watch it again but I am glad I did the first time.
Forrest Gump (1994)
One of the best
Forrest Gump is the best movie of 1994. The only other movie that comes close is Ed Wood. What makes this movie so great and enjoyable is that everything is so interesting. I've seen this movie a hundred times, and I never lose interest. The performances are so great. Tom Hanks gives the performance of his great career. He makes you think even when he just sits there and stares. Like when he is just sitting there on the porch thinking. Also Gary Sinise is superb as Dan Taylor. Mykelti Williamson is memerable as Gumps kind of lugish friend Bubba. And Sally Field is great like always.
Although this film is through the eyes of a very simple man, it is about a big question. Do we all have a destiny in life or are we all just floating like a feather on a breeze? Gump tries to find this out but all he finds out the only things important in life is the love of true friends, and family. Nothing else matters. Not awards from presidents, being a football star, or being a shrimping tycoon. Only being in the arms of your true love.
This movie is superb in every way. Every one in America should see this film.
Midnight Cowboy (1969)
Great from Begining to end
This is probably my favorite movie ever, it is so moving and touching. The good part is it never loses it's feeling no matter how much you watch it. The acting is unbelievable. Especially by John Voit. Dustin Hoffman is also great. This is his second best performance ever. His first is in The Rain Man.
One of my favorite parts of this movie is the beginning. The part where Joe is walking around town getting on the bus with that song "Everybody's talking at me". Also when Joe gets to New York and sees that guy washing dishes in the window, just like he did when he was in Texas. These are just a few of my favorite parts.
This movie showed a truth that I don't think any other movie has showed. The truth to most American dreams. For some people it is Midnight all the Time.
Platoon (1986)
Very Good
This movie is a very emotional film. It shows what happens to young men in war and how it changes them. Although this film is a little dated it is still one of the best war films ever.
This Academy Award winner has many powerful scenes. Such as when Dafoe is running for his life and the helicopters are taking off. When Bunny and Jr. are sitting in their beds and are talking.
I don't get why Dafoe and Berenger get all the credit for this movie. They did a very good job but I think the true performance comes from Charlie Sheen. He has to play the more realistic person which I think would be a lot harder. He gives the performance of his career.
Overall a great movie. Well done Mr. Stone.
