From a very early age I discovered I like older films better than most new ones. So I made the decision to study them making them my personal art form. I love how you can walk up to a stranger anywhere and ask them about their favorite film and within a few minutes you become friends with a more common understanding of each other. So after watching over 7,000 features I became a professional first in exhibition running an art theater in the midwest and then moving into film archiving for the last 20 years. My favorite film decades are the 1930s, then '40s, 20's, 50's, teens, 60s thru today but lately I have been more impressed with films made before 1912! So many yet to discover and forgotten favorites to preserve. Not to mention that most of the movies made in the last century were not in English so that opens up the cultures and stories from around the world! So when I have the time I seek to discover a good film that I have not yet seen so I can pass that title along too.
