I thought this movie was pretty cute. You kinda have to know Jack Black's humor and enjoy it because he's pretty offbeat. But he's also very likeable and I felt the role fit him perfectly.

I'm also glad the movie didn't give away all the chips in the beginning as it unveils itself pretty well over the course of the movie. And I felt the ending was well done too.

Give this one a chance in the holiday season and don't expect a miracle - just a fun movie with an offbeat sense of humor.

I'm not sure why IMDB has such a high minimum number of characters right now just for a review. Really is pretty ridiculous so I just had to fill this review with my review of IMDB's crazy minimum character policy.

My wife wasn't overly thrilled with this one but I definitely felt like it could be a good show for my high school JV Boys team. So we got together for a carb load tonight and we all watched this, as we have a have tomorrow against one of our region rivals.

Of course some of the boys talked during the movie, especially during the slow parts, but after the movie they all gave it a thumbs up. Plus it really grabbed a couple of them emotionally and they said it really got to them. That's exactly what I was hoping for.

I asked them what messages they got from the movie and they got that as well.

All in all I believe the movie accomplished its intention on multiple levels and was appropriately entertaining. I also recommend screening it for appropriately aged soccer teams.
