What was the film about?? who were those actors?? and why on earth was there a damn Elephant on the table throughout the entire 9 minutes of the film. This was an absolute dire film, with nothing to show for itself, the plot was extremely deep, although comprehendible but it really left you wondering Why?, this has to be the worst ten minutes of film history, thank god there was a great feature length film afterwards "If Only" The only creditible moment of the film was the end, where the elephant lay on the table crying, clearly reflecting the audience's sympathy for the soon to be out of work director of this horrible film, and the elephants thoughtful appearance where he must have been wondering why he couldn't have starred in those bigger movies, I.E. Operation Dumbo Drop or Larger than Life. My home videos of the growth of the daisies in my back garden are more intresting and inspirational than this. AVOID IT LIKE THE PLAGUE.
After being bored for 10 minutes by a terrible British short, this film came as a much more refreshing style of film. With it's very similar style to "Sliding Doors", this films goes about portraying the life of a strugling actor that stumbles across some strange dust men after ruining his relationship with his long term girlfriend, they manage to send him through time to the year before, in fact to the same day he ruined his relationship, he must now try to end his affair with fellow actress which in turn would end the jeapardy of his relationship. A well thought out plot, although not original, the acting is extremely good from the stars in their first film together. They convey their relationship well and leave the audience wanting them to make it. A nice romantic comedy, which may not appeal to everyone but certainly to those fans of Sliding Doors, Picture Perfect, My Best Friends Wedding etc.
This is an absolutley great film. Forest Whiteka has excelled himself with a great detailed account of the lives of young black youths struggling through poverty to survive. The director of photography has chosen some brilliant urban backdrops to set the picture alive, almost as if you're a third person view within the film. The story is compelling and well structured, sure it's been done before, but it's the way it has been done that makes this movie so interesting to watch. Has some classic elements of other films such as The Warriors in places, but this only adds to the surreal effect being created here by Forest!
It also has some of the most shocking scenes from the 1993 era. A definite must see for urban-gangsta fans everywhere. Bokeem displays an amazing performance.
Why it wasn't a video release seems beyond me.
