Absolute Giganten (1999)
RESPEKT!
When I first saw "Absolute Giganten" it instantly became my favourite. I just love this movie. It is wonderfully sad but at the same time it seems to keep a certain happiness that just moves you and makes you feel glad to be alive. Sebastian Schipper has made a beautiful but also very real film with wonderful actors and great music by The Notwist. Directors of the world do me a favour and give me more films like this one!
Nach Fünf im Urwald (1995)
Very funny and entertaining
This film combines really funny ideas. You can see that the film makers didn't have a big budget, but that makes "Nach Fünf im Urwald" even more charming. This will especially be very interesting for you, if you've seen "23 - Nichts ist so wie es scheint" (1998) or "Lola rennt" (1998), because this film was the debut for "23"'s director Hans-Christian Schmid and for Franka "Lola" Potente. Girls, watch out for Max Urlacher as Ben, he's SO cute!
Momo (1986)
Wonderful!
I've seen "Momo" when I was a child and it really fascinated me. The movie inspired me to read Michael Ende's novel. This story about time or better about people who steal other people's lifetime was so fascinating for me as a child. I haven't seen the movie for about 10 years, but I still can remember a lot of images, e.g. Cassiopoeia, the turtle who's leading Momo to Master Hora.
