After detailed coverage of the design and building process of a chapel high in the alps, I was disappointed that we didn't get to see the building after it was finished! The music was annoying at times; screechy random noodling on a viola d'amore. It's an interesting building, what we saw of it, so this may be of interest to architecture fans.
This was mostly pretty funny! It does taper off at the end, and we don't really understand what motivates the protagonist to get off his duff and stop wasting his life in Syracuse. But I liked his relationships with his buddy Freak and the high-school girl who also works at the mall.
I really enjoyed this! I guess you'd call it a docu-drama, since it's a mixture of reality and re-enactment. The story of Max Wiser and the "Physique" magazines of the fifties was funny, sad, and startling. There were interviews with former members of the "Athletic Models Guild", and lots of male nudity. C---, a movie buddy, asked me if I found that a turn-on. Mostly I didn't, though it was interesting to see which young men came across in the pictures as personalities, and which were just standing there flexing.
