Well... I thought this might be a nice film to watch before going to sleep, but I was wrong... Whilst lying in my bed I couldn't shake the urge to write about how bland, meaningless and ropey this film was, so I'm here.
I love a lot of British films, films that are based on true stories and films done independently. On paper this film looked like it'd be worth a shot at the very least but it was more like a shot in the foot. I hung on, hoping it was leading to a punchline or at least something to reward the endurance of the boredom... I was hugely disappointed! The best thing about this film was the song that had the line 'It gets much better than this'... At least the person who chose the music had a sense of humour unlike the rest of 'em.
I honestly have to say this is the worst film I've ever seen! Avoid like the plague, unless you like bland, uneventful and thoughtless films.

This has to be one of my favourite films for the photography. The way in which every scene was framed was perfect. The sound also contributed to the film just as much. Had the acting and the dialogue been up to scratch this film could easily be many people's favourite film.
So what was wrong with it? Apart from the child's acting - which was actually stunning, the actors seemed to target a younger age. This is a film rated 15+ so their reasoning eludes me and I start to feel cheated by the contrast with the filming/sound.
I'll definitely watch this film again. Something tells me I'm missing the point of it, but even still it's worth it for the stunning filmography.

... It's so much better. I've been looking for so long but nothing seems to come close to the brilliance of Father Ted.
The jokes come thick and fast but are so deep that even the distant memories of them can make you cry with laughter. I don't believe anything will ever be made that is as perfect as this.
Unlike most other comedy series, the jokes get better the more watch them and familiarise yourself with all the characters. Most of which have something to do with religion, but in the general sense of the characters and playing on stereotypes rather than being either for or against religion itself.
It's such a tragedy that Dermot Morgan (Father Ted) died. This series gave so much laughter to many and in my opinion; it just kept getting better and better as the characters developed.
So don't miss out on watching this rare TV treasure.. 'Go on, go on, go on...!'
