I really enjoyed this film. It was odd, cynical, and worth mulling over. It raises interesting questions about patriotism and what it means to be a hero. Evkodim's transformation to and from the ideal Soviet man was fascinating.
I liked the use of documentary-style filming to show the use of propaganda in Evkodim's life, the general weirdness of it all, and the ending.
If you're in the mood for something different - really, really different - you should try watching Hammer and Sickle, and if it's too weird for you, you can have a whole lot of fun trying to retell the story to your friends. See? There's no downside.
