Star Wars Jedi: Survivor (2023)
The Best Game in the Galaxy
Unfortunately, on most platforms, the game had a really shaky launch. Sub-30 fps consistently, buggy cutscenes, just poor performance altogether. Note that I'm playing on an Xbox Series X.
Now that that's out of the way, THE STORY. I am 12 hours in and I have been swallowed by this story. Don't worry I won't spoil.
And the graphics are superb, and the worlds detailed and expansive. It is every bit as great as the first game, but is better in every aspect. It is a perfect sequel, which is quite rare in the gaming world.
It adds shopping, fishing, and farming. It has companions that fight alongside you. It has new lightsaber fighting styles and everything down to BD-1's parts are customizable. Truly the greatest game in the Galaxy.
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (2003)
How does this have a 9+ star rating?
This may be the most overrated game of all time. I hear so many great things about Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. I started playing in 2023, 20 years after its release. It has the most abysmal controls, combat mechanics, and UI I've ever seen. It is just clunky and convoluted menus. I have absolutely zero clue how this game managed to accomplish a nine-and-a-half star rating on IMDb. The story may be good, but not good enough to forget about the lousy menus and UI. The combat system is unbearable and just maybe proof enough that modern games are better than the games of old. Don't waste your time on KotOR, play Jedi: Fallen Order instead.
Luke Cage (2016)
Season 1 Review
Cottonmouth was awesome. Luke Cage was okay. Misty Knight was great. The pacing of the show is just awful. It could have been 4 hours but it is 13 hours. It is long and drawn out and I thought "this is the last episode" every episode from episode 8 onward. The show gets more boring later on after Cottonmouth died. Luke Cage obviously can't stay immortal throughout so they bring in Hammer Industries exploding rounds that shouldn't have broken his skin since a rocket launcher couldn't. The entire part where Claire brings Luke to a scientist to boil him and do surgery under boiling water was stupid. There were few good qualities of the show, and it is so slow and boring it would be better to watch a 3-hour Luke Cage movie.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier (2021)
A big L for the MCU
I have never been so incredibly bored by an MCU property. Out of their 7 shows, WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki, What If...?, Hawkeye, Moon Knight, and Ms. Marvel, this is by far the weakest. The plot seemed to be nonexistent because they literally deleted their main plot, which was going to be vaccine-centric and was removed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The remaining plot is just Falcon getting the limelight and still whining, and Bucky getting unfortunately sidelined. The greatest parts of the show were the flashbacks with Bucky and the Dora-Milaje, and Baron Zemo. The villains (The Flag-Smashers) were a terrorist group and they were made to seem like misunderstood refugees. I'm glad Zemo blew them up. Garbage series.
Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers (2022)
Best Movie This Year
Multiverse of Madness was great, but it let everyone down somewhat. This movie did the exact opposite. I have never seen the Rescue Rangers cartoon, but this movie is SO GOOD. The leads are hilarious, the cameos are everywhere. THERES FRIGGIN SETH ROGEN.
Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021)
The Definitive Spider-Man Movie
The moment each villain popped up, the crowd exploded. The moment May died, the crowd exploded. The moment Andrew came on screen, the crowd exploded. The moment Tobey came on screen the crowd exploded. The banter between Tobey and Andrew is hilarious and their conversation with Tom is heartfelt. This truly changed Tom's Peter from being Iron Man Jr. To being Spider-Man. Mid-Credit scene they show Eddie Brock leave behind a drop of symbiote. Post credit scene we got to see the trailer for Multiverse of Madness.
