This is honestly one of the worst detective shows I've ever watched. The plots are thin, implausible, and full of holes. The characters are in general wholly unlikeable, and the only upside was the accents.
Now, I do have to say I liked Detective Shepherd and I really liked Jared and Gina, but they are the only redeeming quality to this show and even they have issues. But the others? Breen is a perfect example of a writer trying too hard to be "unique." He has an issue with everything and is always upset or afraid of something. To the point it's obvious he's a fictional character because his phobias are far too numerous. Then there's Sims, whose name conveniently rhymes with "dim." She's so stupid it's actually offensive to women. Girl couldn't logic her way out of a paper bag. She's supposed to be the typical she-man female so she isn't bothered by anything, again to the point it's unrealistic. But her main flaw is that she's stupid. Like really, really stupid.
Then there's the show itself which hinges almost every episode on the same exact thing. You might say it's a matter of PRIDE to them. In fact, it's such a central theme that it becomes completely predictable by season 4. Every other person in town seems to be holding a secret flame for a matching member of society. It's not only ridiculous, it's completely unbelievable. I'm amazed such a poor excuse for a detective show could A) be rated so highly and B) still be running. SMH. Can't you people come up with anything better?
Disclaimer: I gave up in season 4. When you can predict the murderer with pin-point accuracy in less than 10 minutes of an hour and a half show, it's not worth the waste of time. Watch something else and spare yourselves the agony.
