Passenger (2024)
What?
Totally lost as to why this is described as a dark comedy thriller. Just left me feeling what have I just watched?
It looks as though they attempted to humour up Fargo and failed miserably. It was a total mish mash that looked as thought it had been shot by an amateur videographer trying to be edgy. The story line was about as clear as mud.
I was hoping for something decent on mainstream TV but alas it was not to be. I won't be watching anymore of this. There may be someone who finds this humourous but not anyone in my household.
I was hoping for something good but here we are. Shame maybe next time.
Whitstable Pearl (2021)
Lacking Something
I was looking forward to seeing this but it didn't come up to expectations. I didn't feel any connection between the character's, the storyline really wasn't that involving half way through I was scrolling on my phone. It is being performed by some really good actors but I felt they just weren't understanding the characters they portrayed. It definitely, for me at least, lacked any real depth in the characters. It was like watching two people passing in the street with a quick nod to the others existence. I can honestly say I wasn't intrigued enough to watch any more of this series. Pity really.
Signora Volpe (2022)
Simplicity is sometimes best
Gentle easygoing drama. The character Signora Volpe played by the brilliant Amelia Fox is just quietly going about her business and is pulled towards the lifestyle of her sister and her family. It gives her the peace she is clearly looking for. It's not for those who need high speed chases and gun fights at every opportunity. It reflects the lifestyle we imagine that is quintecentionally Italian. I could happily see myself living that life, without the need to be a spy beforehand. The whole thing is the equivalent of a good book before bedtime, it appeals. Relax with a glass of wine and just soak it up.
Million Pound Motorhomes (2021)
Misleading Title
Expected to spend my time watching fantastic how the other half live motor homes. Not what I got. What I got was what I can see any day of the week on Insta or TikTok. Suggest you review the title and perhaps rename it "People do up their van, go camping".
Sister Boniface Mysteries (2022)
No backstory
Sister Boniface made an appearance in Father Brown as a wine chemist in a nunnery. This series starts with no back story as to how she went from that to be working with the police. Would have been better to start with that rather than dive into a murder, decent acting but not catching my interest as Father Brown does. There just is no depth to it.
