The family enjoyed it....the filled theater room enjoyed it. At first during the start of the film....there's uncertainty.....but as the movies moves along....cool scenes show up...laughs start to come....and weirdness grows. It's just a wacky weird film...and that's what Beetlejuice is and was. Wacky and weird. Perhaps it was not weird enough for some diehards...and too weird for regular movie goers. I wasn't expecting some Oscar winning epic.....I wanted a popcorn silly and strange film....and I got that....my family got that....and the theater room got it. I even caught myself towards the end of the film thinking....is this better than the 1st film?? If im even entertaining that thought... (and I've seen others comment the same) then the film succeeded. Fun movie night...and enjoying seeing wacky Keaton in action. Come on...I'm a Mr. Mom fan from the 80s ;)

This is definitely for those that like weird and artsy horror films, and good movie lovers. Depends on what you like. I'm an old school horror fan and it builded on me. Movie is shot very well and the 3 actors in it do a fine job....they play such odd characters. Music was great too....the intro music was creepy. So yes....it's slow and creepy....but thats what its going for. Its not an action packed Marvel film. I have no clue why the low reviews say its bad, worst film, or boring, etc. I don't think they love movies, lol. There are hundreds of worse movies out there, maybe they don't watch much. To me, if its shot great, has good acting, keeps me interested, has me going what the hell at times and trying to figure it out, has good music, is creepy and arty, and has me looking up more about it after I watched it, then thats a good movie. It did its job. I give it a 6 or 7. The intro and outro credits even look cool, lol. Very cool new and different movie.

It gets better. Its nothing special....but it's worth a watch. I thought the main male actor was good. I think there's one long scene of dialogue from his girlfriend and it's one long take with no cut, which was cool. Those saying its bad in the reviews, sorry....but there are way worse movies out there. Maybe I've seen too many, so maybe my opinion has a bit more weight. This movie is not bad. Wife and I thought it was okay. Especially the ending. I thought the ending was cool. No, it's not action action action all throughout the movie people. The story and the dialogue and the connection between 2 people is the film....with something creepy mixed in.
