Watched this Christmas night, when I was quite happy for something fun and a little silly. However, this film is soo bad - barely a decent gag in the entire movie. It feels like the writers came up with a broad idea, but then struggle to develop any actual jokes.
James Franco is nothing more than annoying, and simply nowhere near as funny as he thinks he is.
It isn't funny in 2024, and I struggle to imagine it would have been funny in 2014 either.
If I had not been in a Christmas food coma, I would have switched this dross off after 20 minutes. I struggle to think of a single positive thing to say about this film.

The implausible kills and action shots bordered on ridiculous. At times I wasn't sure whether I was supposed to be laughing. At least James Bond films don't take themsleves too seriously.
The acting of the lead female is very average - and she is poorly cast. A desk analyst suddenly out in the field in covert operations. It felt like i watching my Mum out hunting baddies with an automatic weapon.
Multiple needless sub-plots that add nothing to the story, and appear designed to do little other than extend the series out to 10 episodes. As a result it just drags on - I found myself increasingly tempted to start fast forwarding ...

A couple of ridiculous plot lines full of implausible scenarios.
I'm not sure which setting was the more ludicrous - the Death Row inmates in the U. S, or the idiotic vicar back in the UK.
The Death Row inmate who brilliantly solves crimes than have stumped everyone else felt like some kind of weird cross between the Mentalist and Hannibal Lector. His side-kick was seemingly included for some comic relief.
Meanwhile, back in England there is a vicar who makes some of the3 dumbest decisions imaginable.
I ended up fast forwarding the last 2 episodes. If the series had been more than 4 episodes I wouldn't have bothered.
