After I watched the trailer I expected something more supernatural, more horror-ish. Something like the first season of Channel Zero, if anyone remembers. But then you watch this movie which I felt was very slow in the first half, if not wanting to say boring. Then the film slowly picks up its pace, and when you think that it gets suspenseful, the ending credits appear. I had to consult with the Internet to read interviews of the author of this movie to understand the theme of this movie. Almost everything in this movie is metaphorical, the horror as shown as in the trailer is non-existent and so I was left disappointed because I expected a movie so much different from what it really was. I have no problem with these kind of movies, but they shouldn't use that completely false narrative they use in the trailer.
The trailer was okay-ish... could have been hit or miss. The film seems to start like a typical French comedy. You have to get used to that kind of style and humour... especially since some of the jokes especially at the beginning are somewhere between dad jokes or just lame. But the more the film progresses the more it matures. Yes there still are a few jokes you either like or don't... and others are just great, especially when making fun of other superhero movies, Marvel, Stan Lee etc. Just watch it and have fun.
This is such a fantastic show. It's just a very cute love story of two boys in high school. In contrast to other LGBTQ+ shows this one is not a drama or too much will-they-won't-they or with annoying cliffhangers. E.g. Like "Love Victor". Of course you have topics like bullying, society, friendships, coming-out. But it doesn't put's its major focus on the drama but on the developing love of the two protagonists. Simple but so effective.
