After recently seeing a miserable movie about what happens in a family after a sudden death, I was hesitant to watch another on that topic. I decided to give this one a try, though, and give it no more than 45 minutes to make me want to watch it in its entirety. No problem at all watching this film to the end. It had a lot of laughs and enough sensitivity.
John is having a bit of a mid-life crisis, and is thinking of posssible ways of escaping his dull, routine life. Unfortunately, his father dies suddenly, leaving him with even more family responsibilities. He is now the patriarch in the eyes of many in the family, including his mother.
His three younger siblings are there for his father's funeral and wake, as well as cousins, aunts, uncles, grandchildren, friends, a priest who gets tipsy, and a young, mysterious beautiful woman who seemed to know the deceased really well. Lots of laughs, lots of fun, some serious moments and a good ending.

The Man and the City
I saw this episode recently under the title of "Destiny of a Woman". It's one hour, thirty minutes which was interesting, since I don't remember this series having episodes longer than the usual hour. It's been over 50 years since I was a teenager watching this show, so I was glad to have found at least one episode.
Anthony Quinn is a Mexican-American mayor in a New Mexico city. He's no bleeding heart, but still cares about those who need his help, and cares about fairness and justice. When a truck brings in illegal immigrants from Mexico to work in a clothing factory, a pregnant Chinese woman is among them. She is looking for the soldier who is the father of her baby.
There is also another major story about an intern who aids a city worker in a traffic accident one night. The intern, who was moonlighting for the city, does an emergency tracheostomy, and the injured city worker sues both him and the city for the aid received. Just another working week in the city for Mayor Thomas Alcala.

This film is like a mildly interesting "Twilight Zone" episode that goes on a bit too long. I read a review here that did not have a spoiler warning before watching it, and wished I had not. It told what was going to happen. It would have been more interesting if I had no idea why the plane kept going higher and higher.
The movie does have good intentions and a good message, and asks important questions. What would happen if scientists could invent a bomb that would destroy the entire earth? Why are there individuals who think destructive bombs should be used against others for no reason other than they may build and use such a bomb first?
