  • A funny remembering of a terrible time

If you have already seen this movie probably you can understand why i say it's fantastic.

The movie is laid in the time of the communist regime in Hungary.

It is a special kind of remembering of all the injustice one had to survive that time. Well, after this introduction you could think this movie might be really sad, telling you the story of many suffering people. But it isn't! It is full of grotesque. You just can't watch this movie without laughing a lot.

People living in Dunaújváros (an industrial town expanded during the communism) already know how to behave themselves to avoid being arrested. Fearing of the terror they are used to not speaking about things one mustn't speak. They never miss taking part in the public feasts, where all of them seem (pretend) to be really really happy with all the benefits communism gives to them.

But there is an extraordinary man, Csocsó Bácsi. Somehow the rules seem not to apply on him. He is like a funny fool but he is simply not scared. He thinks different. And with his tricks he makes the life of the ugly ÁVH-officer ( ÁVH ~ State Defense Agency) quite hard...

If you haven't seen this movie yet, i recommend it to be seen. It is almost like Forrest Gump for US.
