Champion offers a great perspective from the journey of a British Jamaican musical family in London and the conflicts they face with Bosco dealing with his issues while pursuing a musical career and Vita his younger sister always being the one he depends on. Every single actor did a great job on this production, the visuals to this show is quality, glad that bbc is taking the black representation in multicultural London seriously.
Now I must say, not sure if Champion is created from an existing IP, it did not need to be a series, a movie would have been fine as it feels the story was too stretched out, 8 episodes could have been wrapped up in a 90 to two hour film. Some of the writing felt too repetitive and on the nose, the dialogue could have been better, still great job to cast and crew, would still recommend.

This film in all honesty was a let done and is one of Michael B Jordan's weakest films (next to Fahrenheit 451). I have never read Tom Clancy's book so I am not familiar with how the adaptation should go but this film alone was a let down. The film was mediocre, has a lot implausible moments and the dialogue was weak "a pawn in a chess game" or something along the lines of that. I don't mind films every now and then being predictable within reason but this film without even reading the book I could tell what would happen at each scene. The characters are simple, weak with no depth and even Michael B Jordan couldn't save what's left of this weak, plot based screenplay but because it's Michael and I do believe he is a decent actor I stomached watching this. Would not recommend but if you want to see Michael B then fine watch it.
This film starts off as a slow burn but gets intense and dramatic when you stick with it. The acting and cinematography in this film is decent. The first time I was introduced to Danielle Deadwyler was in The Harder They Fall so when I saw her name in this film I knew I had to watch. This film is quiet disturbing in some scenes, very character driven, you can't help but root for Lemon and her son all through the way and hope she gets her revenge.
I enjoyed the pacing and glad this film got to showcase the leading talent Danielle has. If you don't mind the slow burn with violence and grim then this film is for you.
