  • If this doesn't win an Oscar...

My expectations for this movie were already quite high, but after seeing it, it definitely surpassed them.

From what looked like a general story, seen tons of times, came probably one of, if not the, best animated movie of this year.

The animation is gorgeous, like an evolution of what we saw with the Puss in Boots 2, the music is awesome, the story, as said before, looks "general" but the movie is able to make it quite original.

From now on you'll see spoilers, so if you haven't watched the movie already, do not read this part and ruin your experience.

Needless to say my favourite part was the whole "flying training" sequence, loved the evolution of both BrightBill and especially Roz, in particular with her voice, becoming more "human" as the movie progresses. Love how this movie treats the theme of death, which is seen as just an everyday thing the animals don't really care about.

Really, this movie is Oscar Worthy, go watch it.

  • Fantastic in every aspect

Got into arcane a few years after it came out, and god what I was missing out on.

The animation is top notch, was kinda doubtful on the eyes at the start, thinking they wouldn't be that expressive if drawn that way but the show proved me wrong. Especially in dramatic moments, they achieve a level of empathy that, I think, is only achievable with animation. Fortiche really nailed it.

Aside from that, I enjoyed the story and characters so much. It's one of those few shows (if not the only one) in which there wasn't an episode that bored me. Even though it's just (for now) 9 (45 mins) episodes, each one of them takes you into discovering more aspects of the characters, that feel "real" in a way, and the environment they live in.

    A masterpiece.

  • there are only 2 episodes out right now, but i'm loving it already

I'm loving it, I remember watching some episodes of adventure time lot of time ago and recently got invested into it again, and woah, the whole show is a ride from start to finish, you can really see how much love was put into it, about this new spin-off, it's different, but in a good way. The first 2 episodes that came out are a total banger and they differ a bit from the adventure time episode formula, but still keeps it amazing.

From now on, there'll be some spoilers, so you'd better go watch the show before reading the rest of this review.

The show is rated TV-14, there aren't lots of swear words (there's some gore in the 2nd episode) but what makes it more "adult" are the themes in the show I think.
