This was a drama that didn't have one pleasant character in it. All of them were flawed so it was hard to root for any of them.
How did the casting director choose the actor who played the son Jeremy? He's around 30 years old with the build and face to match, yet we were supposed to believe he was what ? A late teenager or 20, who spent most time throwing childish temper tantrums (he could have knocked out his screen father with one thump!) or sobbing in his mother's arms. Most decent parents would have marched him to the police double quick.
Then there was the obsessed French detective with THE most stupid haircut that was plastered down. Hard to warm to a character who was an idiot.
Then the main protagonist - the female Swiss detective. She did smile ... once in the final scene. Probably glad it was all over.
The storyline was clever - though complicated. I stayed the course despite wanting to give Jeremy a good slap, but not something I'd sit through again.

Others have described the plot so I won't repeat. But like another Poster, I agree that someone needed to put a coin in the electricity meter ! Too often Directors shoot their dramas in almost darkness - why ??? We dont stagger around our homes in the gloom with only a 40w bulb for lighting yet we can barely see any action in modern films. Ridiculous.
I did find that there was some iffy acting. When all the extras started waving their arms in protest in crowd scenes you could almost hear the Director shout "action" - and looking in the distance behind the crowd the streets were empty - hardly realistic.
In general the casting was good, but Jesse Pelman as Roger Carlson, well, he's certainly no Brad Pitt or George Clooney so it was a bit gross seeing him in baggy underpants playing a lover, and his acting skills in this are questionable despite having a varied career in films.
So, in essence I enjoyed "the ride", but the hearing noises and Bambi to me wasn't explained, so I feel a bit short changed with the ending.

I couldn't warm at all to Miren the loopy journalist. So many of these dramas have female leads who are flaky, have "issues", or carry so much baggage you wonder how they would get a job in a supermarket let alone one of responsibility - generally it's the truculent and unco-ooerative cop , so at least a member of the press makes a change.
I found it hard to concentrate on what the lead actress was saying as her over-enhanced lips with filler should have had their own credits ! I doubt I shall watch this lady again as I found her an uncomfortable watch. Her character was unpleasant with little regard for other colleagues.
As for storylines, in general the ideas were good; but there was so much dimly lit action and in other areas it was like watching paint dry, hence a lot of fast forwarding.
If there is another Season I won't be watching.
