I really can't say anything about this movie that hasn't already been said, but that's never been known to stop me.
I thought that A Mighty Wind was fantastic. Not as good as This Is Spinal Tap (but then again... what is?), but better than Waiting For Guffman and Best In Show. However... I think think that the entire "mockumentry" genre of movies is not one that appeals to a wide variety of people. They tend to be slow-moving, and not everyone really "gets it". If you've seen any of Christopher Guest's previous mockumentries and didn't like them, then I can almost guarentee that you won't like A Mighty Wind. I can understand that, and almost respect that, but being that I am about as big of a Mr Guest fan as you can find... I loved this movie.
Mad props to Eugene Levy, who successfully managed to portray a very funny and touching character with such ease. If you ask me, it's his best performance ever. Also, there's something magical about seeing Spinal Tap members Guest, Michael McKean, and Harry Shearer together again in a different form. It was amusing, if nothing else. And Fred Willard... don't even get me started on that guy. He's hilarious in every sense of the word. The rest of the cast shines as well.
So, to sum up, if you've enjoyed Christopher Guest's previous movies, this is a must see. If you haven't, then you have my permission to skip this one.

Here's hoping that NBC reruns this game show special soon. Hosted by veteran game show hosts Peter Marshall (The Hollywood Squares), Bob Eubanks (The Newlywed Game), Jim Lange (The Dating Game), and Wink Martindale (Tic Tac Dough), as well as Ben Stein (Win Ben Stein's Money), this show featured hilarious and outrageous clips from old and new game shows, American and British.
There is not a dull moment in this show... except for maybe when the hosts are blabbing on and not being funny... but other than that, this show will have you rolling on the floor laughing for the entire hour.

Now, this isn't necessarily a bad movie... If you're a fan of Michael Madsen, I'd suggest you check this film out. But if you're not... move on.
Basically, the premise is a happy little family vacation goes awry after a bank robber takes them and their RV hostage. Not a bad basic idea, but for some reason that I can't figure out, it doesn't work. The good idea for a movie goes wrong somewhere, and the end product is not as great of a movie as it should be.
