The Fountain (2006)
Upon my honor and life I will adore the film
The reason movies exist is exactly for this specific creation. The more I watch the film the more details I'm able to detach. So many things aren't explained directly but through the correct viewing we are able to understand. for example and here are some spoilers: the future storyline we see the main character bald to the bone, I deciphered that it was a secondary effect to the drug he created for eternal life. He studied meditation long before he engaged in the forever long journey in space in order not to suffer from the great period of isolation. Indirectly we see that planet earth is long gone...etc. I do not understand the haters and negative critics towards this masterpiece, I figure that they are not quite open enough and thus the lack of understanding makes them discard the film as junk. well its not! I guess they prefer blockbuster hits like Iron man or SAW. Visually fantastic and musically amazing! I can guarantee you that you will not understand squat after first view so it is mandatory you give it several other opportunities and then make final judgment. I would almost ask for a "The Fountain 2" but it is not necessary for this film is uniquely different and outstanding from all the rest and giving it a sequel would be saying that the first lacked of explanation. In fact it does lack vital pieces of information but thats exactly the beauty of it, we put in whatever we want to and I don't know of any other film that you can do that. Jackman, Weisz and Aronofsky are responsible, in my opinion, for the greatest movie ever created since the invention of film and cinematography.
Lipstick Jungle (2008)
Pretty nice sit back after long day TV drama
There have been better, yes. Not original, no, but after viewing the pilot it left me in some expectation to see what follows. Three successful lady's high in their career working for more is somewhat interesting for young and old, men and women and their own personal family crisis that we always relate to, like it or not. Brooke shields, despite the critics is doing very well. She's convincing, mature and experienced. She's no longer just the pretty face. As for the other two, I don't know. I'll have to wait and see. All the producers need to promise is a good story line and a couple of nice twists so that it can be like said, a good sit back after long day at work TV drama, so we could all forget our real problems and enjoy theirs.
