A Kind of Spark (2023– )
10/10
Amazing autistic representation and a great storyline!!
6 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I loved this show!! It centres around Addie (played by Lola Blue) who is autistic, and lives in the small village of Juniper. She learns about the Scottish witch trials that occurred in her very own village. She is shocked by the injustice, and, with the help with her friend, Audrey (Eve Migdley) and sisters Keedie (Georgia Degidlow) and Nina (Caitlin Hamilton), she campaigns for a memorial for the witch trials. But, at the same time, it contains the story of Maggie (Hattie Gotobed) and Elinor (Ella Maisy Purvis) Fraser. Maggie, whose diary Addie owns and is trying to unravel the mystery of, is accused of witchcraft. Elinor, and a few other characters must help Maggie get out, and in turn, trick the witch hunter. I loved how Elinor, who lives in 1597 I think, is autistic, showing that we have been here for so long and will continue to exist for a long time. I especially loved the fashion in this show. It was amazing and a joy to watch. I really really really hope we get a series , as it is AMAZING. 10/10 would recommend!!
