John Wick 3 seems to take a totally different approach to things as it doesn't have a true adversary to John Wick. John seems to fight everyone and while having everyone against him be a different style I'm not sure it worked as well. IN the prior films the antagonists were primary parts of the production well thought out while this movie has a plethora of antagonists that seems to be fodder for Wick. That being said I do really enjoy the story as it's something different and it doesn't fail. The big problem for me is that they tried to get more creative with the fight sequences and it didn't always work for me example being the horse stable scene. It came off as comedic more than bad ass and that's not something i look for in this series. To contrast that they make one of the best twist endings I've seen in a bit.
John Wick 2 did what the original set out to do but on a bigger scale and to bigger success. The story becomes more involved as it still becomes untangles from Johns butterfly affect. The Antagonist Santino D'Antonio is for me the best of the series up the the third movie as he is more manipulative than the rest and isn't a killing machine like the rest either. Pair that with my favorite John Wick opponent in Cassian, who isn't a true evil but in my opinion gives Wick his best fights and you have the components for an insanely good movie. The cinematography is obviously impeccable as with the rest while the fight scenes take a step up.
John Wick is such a unique film from others as it goes straight into the story without needing to fill in about characters slowly for the first portion. John Wick makes sure you know its about the action first and the story second but it works so well weirdly. You learn about these different aspects in this universe as compared to real life and it confuses you at first but you become comfortable with it eventually. The fight scenes are top tier with the cinematography being second to none. Though I can understand someone liking this film more I view it more as a perfect building block for the insane story ahead, keeping itself simple as to not over do you with what's yet to come. The antagonists were perfect for the movie but not perfect themselves as it felt purposeful to leave room for improvement in that area for the future movies.
