A bit disappointing. It's basically I Know What You Did Last Summer with some Scream references. But it isn't done in tribute, it's just stolen. A group of students take revenge on a lecturer and it goes wrong, but someone saw them and is picking them off, one by one.
It's fine if you're looking for something bland, but there's some direct stolen scenes. It leaves you guessing with the characters who the killer is and the actors are good. The script is fine and it plays out well. It's just really let down overall by being a carbon copy.
As a slasher fan, id say watch it. It isn't a terrible movie at all, but don't expect any big surprises.

I don't know why people are saying this a funny games rip off. It really isn't. For a start, there's a motive to the villains in this movie. I found this family believable, in normal house invasions, you spend half the movie asking why they don't kick the folk out but the parents are a solid unit, despite recent tragedies, and they are really likeable, so you route for them as soon as the tension mounts. The subtle copying of the family the villains do is clever and the minimal music build some amazing tension. It is hard to predict what atrocities are going to happen (like funny games) and that is breath holding. But the cast is great: the villains are hateable, especially the kid, he should have been shot at the first opportunity, and the victims are really likeable. Give it a go.
This won't terrify you, but it's a great delve into grief, nature and survival. There's great atmosphere that builds throughout and is a wonderful tale of sacrifice. It is a slow build, but not slow enough you're waiting for the end. I do recommend this, as an avid horror fan, it's not overly gory so a good starting movie for those looking to expand from the mainstream. It's an exciting story that unfolds naturally and the lead is wonderfully merciful and strong. A good female lead that does what needs to be done and doesn't fear anything, as she has already faced her worse fear. Give it a watch, it's a sad and well told tale.
