Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny (2023)
Phoebe...Why?
At half way through, I wanted to just call it a day! A daughter of a Professor, treated an artifact known to be a monumental find with such disrespect and disregard to her father's knowledge. Phoebe takes it to an illicit market to pay back her misdeeds, all along grinning and acting entitled and as it's all great fun. With a father of his stature and position, she was a great disappointment. Even a young Indy held artifacts in high esteem. She made the part laughable with few redeeming qualities. I thought her acting was not on the level of any of the others and actually found her distracting. And, Shanette, what was her purpose? Felt like no one would have missed her. Mad usually makes a good bad guy, but even he missed the mark in this lack luster script. The secondary characters were more enjoyable. I certainly wished that this last entry had some of the charm, humor and dedication to save antiquities as did in all the other previous showings. Maybe it was the poor script, unrealistic stunts for Indy at his age, lack of tongue in cheek scenes that endeared us to this franchise or Phoebe's poor over acting or lack of understanding what the movie is actually about ... still scratching my head why did the hire her for such a pivotal role?...but this move was more of a chore to watch than a joy. I'll finish it, out of respect for the great entertainment from the prior episodes I've enjoyed over the years, but I'm sad it wasn't better thought out or better casted.
A Haunting in Venice (2023)
Overacted..Typical Over Dramatic Portrayal as Poiret
Why in the world would he cast Tina Fey as a writer and lead actress. When she used humor, it failed horribly and when she attempted a dramatic scene, it was almost funny. Sadly, this is not up to par compared to other Poiret movie actor portrayals or especially with the TV series actor. The TV series nailed Poiret's mannerisms, his quiet detections, and his struggle to conceal emotional connection. KB is all about changing the original and incorporating his own interpretations instead of staying close to the original, and he over dramatizes Poiret, as well as directs some of the main characters to do the same. Just disappointing, since I've read most of Agatha Christie's novels.
Worst Cooks in America (2010)
Spoiled Adults - Spoiled Show
After watching the first episode, I was appalled. The current cast are all annoying and incompetent. It's sad to see Food Network finding the dredges of society who are too clueless and spoiled to cook a simple meal. The contestants are loud, noisy, and some dressed for a circus! I can't believe anybody can get through life being this dumb when it comes to basic cooking. Also, long hair/wigs, acrylic/gel nails are unsafe and unsanitary in kitchens. So rich kids, adults, who can't cook anything make up the contestant mix. I shook my head when one girl said she didn't even buy her own toiletries. What is wrong with their parents. What a sad commentary on good parenting. What if they lost all their money? Parents should be raising their children and teaching them basic skills of survival like cooking, cleaning, hygiene, ethics and preparing them to be an asset to society. I'd be ashamed to see my child on a show exploiting their rich spoiled lazy ass lives. I didn't find one of them amusing or humorous, interesting, or worth wasting my time to watch this season.
The Traitors: Welcome to the Dark Side (2024)
Boring Cast
The reason I decided to watch this season was because Johnny Bananas was a contestant. So the first kill was him. What a stupid, rookie move, to eliminate one of the most interesting players, a player who would be a great asset to win money for their pot and someone who was interesting and amusing to watch. They had an option to get rid of Peppermint, who really adds nothing to the show other than ugly outfits, snarky comments and an obnoxious attitude. The first challenge was like the race of the twits. CT and Bananas are accustomed to strategic challenges, yet they got rid of Bananas and the traitors acted so smug thinking they made a great strategic move. Honestly, there isn't any player, other than CT, who I'm interested in watching play this game, the rest of the cast is rather mediocre. Some of the woman are stuffed into clothes that are two sizes, too small, have uber lip fillers, and boobs hanging out of their clothes. Most males lack charisma and personality. The traitors aren't even interesting this season. Disappointed.
Deadloch (2023)
Guess You Didnt Approve of My First Review ...So, I'll Dumb it Down
I thought this series was going to focus on solving murders, touched with a bit of humor. Instead, a competent town detective was replaced with an unprofessional, yelling, egotistical slob of a upper level detective who should be rated "R" and she was honestly disappointing and ruined what could have been a good character. The town detective had to suffer this creature as well as her own fiancé who acted manic or rattlebrained during the entire two episodes I watched. The acting was so over done with most cast members, it was difficult to watch....shades of Monty Python and race of the twits! That's all I could envision, as I watched the story play out. The humor failed and turned more to put downs and sarcasm. The scene that made me throw up my hands and turn the program off...the beach was covered with naked women's bodies, apparently some artsy type of photo shoot. Pan up in the bushes above the beach and you catch sight of a peeping Tom... Just not my cup of tea. Maybe I don't get lesbian humor?
Married at First Sight (2014)
Sad Days in Denver...Is there Hope?
I've watched this program for a number of years. I've noticed the match couples work has progressively grown sloppy, with dismal matches that don't seem to connect for a strong union between two people. So many red flags pop up during the initial investigation into personal lives of the candidates. Ever watch the bachelor and bachelorette parties! Huge! Huge! Red Flags! So far this season has been horrible. More than halfway through and it doesn't seem like any of the couples are on the same page. Religion? Sex? Chemistry? Interests and personalities don't seem to connect, even to the point of boring. One couple can't seem to get any romance going. One guy doesn't appear to be into his wife and seems to just try to make it day by day. Another couple is getting along, but her serious health issues never come up in any conversations and that's a major factor as far as family, health, sex and well-being for both. One couple is already done because of racial differences, completely blown out of proportion. No red flags before the match?? Sadly, red flags have been there for the experts to see, the viewers saw them! The last few years, EXPERTS seem to overlook even the worst red flags! It has become more a soap opera...throw them together, see if they fit, but if they don't, more drama for viewers. I don't see it that way. This could be a great program putting two people together who might make a really great match, that is if all of the components for a good relationship and marriage are considered carefully, diligently, psychologically and emotionally. This season has been difficult to watch, sad relationships seem to be going nowhere and good people involved are struggling and suffering to make poor matches work. Most of the time they look confused as to why the relationship isn't this working and don't seem to understand because they signed up for a match that would bring them love, happiness and a fulfilling marriage. Of course, learning about each other publicly is difficult, but with strong matches, there is hope. Maybe it's time to get new qualified experts who will thoroughly investigate each selected candidate with fine tooth combs and have serious conversations about the topics they seem to cause the couples most issues. I still hope for the best for all the candidates, there is a special someone out there for each of them.
Real World/Road Rules Challenge: Final Reckoning: The Affair (2018)
Lots of Angry People
I don't know how this season went to such a dark, hateful side, but in my opinion, the most difficult one to watch with much compassion.
Melissa and Kailah got in a girl fight, both got kicked off. Melissa confronted players to get them to put hands on her, tried it with Kam in Vendettas, but Kam didn't fall for it. Kailah did.
Amanda, called the Spawn of Satan by other players was mean as a Tasmanian Devil, without boundaries or filters, the toxicity and hatred that spewed out of her mouth like a gatling gun made you despise her or feel pity for someone filled with so much anger. She had Zach as a partner, but "devil woman" couldn't see beyond her dog viciousness to realize she paired up with a final contender.
Shane, so full of spite and malice. He sabotaged this team, blasted others without mercy.
Kam portrayed herself as entitled, threatening, "Queen," better and stronger than all. Granted, she's a great athlete but missed an opportunity to use this public platform to exhibit simple confidence in her ability and pride in her achievements, but instead she did the finger wagging, eye rolling postures that put her down instead of built her up. In a later episode, she spoke of her heritage with humility and that would have been a plus.
DaVonne, ballistic, very angry person, just annoying.
Kayleigh, outed another girl's sexuality and didn't feel she had done anything wrong. There are boundaries that should never be crossed. Also, instead of speaking up, clearing the air, she let some rumors spread causing upheaval. Duplicitous? Maybe, there was reason why a group of girls dumped all her belonging over the second-floor banister in Vendettas!
Sylvia sort of hid behind her partner, quiet, not much to say, but after Marie learned she and Cara had been set for an elimination round, Marie confronted Sylvia, part of her alliance, Sylvia showed her true colors and head-butted Marie. She should have been sent home, but I guess head butts don't equate to hands on!
Several players, quietly lurked in the background, only surfaced to mouth off when they gained a little power. It's comical to watch sometimes.
Banana's down fall, he previously hooked up with Natalie from Big Brother. That should say it all. Big Brother alums align, wait for the opportune moment to stab others in the back. Big Brother alliances are too relevant in seasons. It's annoying that a group comes in already plotting the demise of others. It only comes to light more and more in future seasons with the added mix of Survivor.
Lavender Ladies. Big mistake. They should have broken up that catty group because they gained too much power.
Bigger mistake: Bringing Ashley and Hunter into game after it started and later Devin and Cory.
Biggest upset and best LAUGH! Zach refused to give in to Amanda's demands to put Bananas and Tony in elimination. If they couldn't agree, they had to enter battle. Without giving Amanda a third chance to change her mind, Zach simply walked down to the arena and waited for her. The look on Amanda's face, standing alone on the podium with her mouth open, was priceless! They ended up losing to Cory and Devin.
The finalist were surprises, Cara and Marie, Josh and Sylvia, and Ashley and Hunter. Cara and Marie never got it together, as much as Cara tried, Marie just couldn't get much of anything done well. Nothing new, but at least they tried to work it out. Josh and Sylvia, the only reason Sylvia made it to a final is because she had a strong, capable partner. Ashley and Hunter, were a sad toxic duo. Ashley took all the money and left Hunter with nothing after he won most of the challenges for her. Her excuse was he made threatening statements, true but they were in the heat of anger during conversation with others sharing how difficult it was to work with her. Her behavior throughout validated his concerns. That blindside was the worst and least deserving one in The Challenge history.
Real World/Road Rules Challenge: Dirty 30: Thirty Rotten Scoundrels (2017)
Twists and Turns
I'm re-watching the whole series. Right now I am at Dirty 30. I like the twist and turns and the redemption house return format. Another trivia game fail. I can't believe that some of these people have so little knowledge of basic facts. Maybe they could invest in some of those trivia books. Anessa's injures her ankle, spoiler she does the same thing in Ride or Die final and weighed twice as much. I've noticed on a number of the series that the men hope that Anissa gets eliminated because they don't wanna take her to a final. I never understood why she continued to come back heavier each time, apparently didn't work out and didn't get fit but felt entitled to go to a final .Nicole R. Is still wearing freaky makeup. Still looks Day of the Dead mask! Veronica apparently didn't workout either but somehow slides by eliminations. They got rid of Amanda, the devil incarnate. She never shut up so anyone could respond. Simone....hope never to suffer her again, nasty personality. Horrible behavior from the moment she walked in the door, She started raging at people. Then Tony had a drunken blackout...sad situation to see someone that far gone. Veneers and bad wigs are to be announced. Coming soon. Teeth get bigger, whiter. Wigs get uglier. Eyelashes become spider looking. Lips grow huge, often grotesque with filler. Earlier series felt more natural instead of media, makeup focus. At least Dirty 30 was down and dirty and worth watching. Unfortunately, Camila got black out, drunk and verbally attacked Leroy with racial slurs. I have to give Leroy credit because he behaved like a gentleman and allowed her to get over her tirade. He continued to act like a gentleman throughout and even afterwards. People have been kicked off the show for putting hands on another person. A toxic, emotionally abusive verbal attack should be considered equally as bad. In that case, Camila should have been removed from the game and sent home. The final turned out to be difficult, which most are, but the teams pushed through and got it done. Staying true to the twists and turns of this season they had to switch partners a number of times before they ended up with their final partner. I'm sure there's a few people who have a bad taste in their mouth because Camila ended up winning $450,000 in the final with Jordan. The winners were not announced at the end of the finals, they had to return to the reunion for that information to be released. Sadly, Camilla did not appear. I hope she was getting help to deal with her anger issues. I think the reunion addressed the situation of too much alcohol and verbal attacks appropriately with constructive comments.
Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares (2004)
South Brooklyn Foundry - Toxic Continues - Why did Ramsey even Try?
The place was a mess. The owner didn't have control of her bank account. Chef Ray did! But, she carried all the debt, loans, and credit debt owed. Chef Ray took $70,000 salary and worked less than 50% of the time. Why? He also worked at a pizzeria! What is wrong with this picture? Apparently Chef Ray managed to control her somehow. He was rude, non-communicative, and just a downright jerk, it didn't appear that he could even cook well, as most of his meals went out undercooked or over cooked. The food was ridiculously expensive for a restaurant in their area and I'm surprised they're still in business. After Gordon revamped the restaurant, helped her get rid of Chef Ray's toxicity, and brought in his own staff to help her restructure the kitchen and menus, what did she do? She allowed Chef Ray to return. I guess the saying you can't fix stupid is right on because who in their right mind would want to have him come back. He already took over control of all her finances, her business and the restaurant, and led it to a complete fail because of his attitude and arrogance. I feel sorry for the woman and I hope she finds a therapist to help her understand she can stand on her own and be successful without Chef Ray. Toxic relationships just don't get better, just like abusive relationships, they just continue to degrade and sometimes with dire results. Again she placed herself in a repeat situation. Hope she wakes up.
Real World/Road Rules Challenge (1998)
So far...so good! January 2024 update
Ugh! Halfway through and it's just a mess. Vets come in to battle, and elimination rounds are an embarrassment. Why any of the contestants beat a vet is beyond me, except for the fact that some of the eliminations are so asinine and so out of pocket for the vets, huge puzzles rather than a get down, get dirty prove you belong here. Competition with vets should be a way to find a new Champion, not dumb down the event. Also there's a lot of backstabbing and double alliances and just stupidity in game strategy. I want to yell, why am I bothering to watch this season? For some reason, Michelle is getting a lot of screen time, when she is one of the most annoying players ever on the challenge. Her voice is grating, her attitude is I know it all, she plays both sides of the fence and eventually will backstab somebody. As far as a new champion, I don't see any of them really possessing enough challenge credit or deserving of the title Champion. I don't understand this lineup, when there's a number of qualified candidates not included who are a better fit for the title of new champion.
On the Fence...Will see how it Goes.
So we gave up Josh bawling and feeling sorry for himself and now Danny took his place. What is that big powder puff on Danny's head? A new norm hair style? Melissa and Big T are just annoying. I like the idea of mixing up the games so contestants aren't sure exactly where they stand with each other. The last few games dealt with Survivor and Big brother ganging up on each other or others. Royal Pain! The current group is a good mix with diverse characters from various areas of gameplay. I know these players haven't won a championship but there's probably some reasons why not, which will soon become apparent. But in the meantime, at least it's keeping my attention and not making me say I am not watching inept groups, gang up and act stupid and end up kicking themselves in the butt because they don't possess the challenge mix. This game is multifaceted and requires endurance, intelligence strength, and most of all a good solid strategy that is flexible. Some players just don't get it and get emotional or get sucked into somebody else's plan and ends up out of the game because of bad choices. I've watched every season twice including global, champs vs stars, etc. Would love to find 33-35, but they seem no longer in existence. So I've seen the good, the bad, the stupid, and the ugly! Not an expert but a pretty good judge of talent and potential. So far, so good,
Real World/Road Rules Challenge: Battle for a New Champion: Countdown Begins (2023)
On the Fence...Will see how it Goes. Goes belly up! Update January 2024
Updated.... Piss, poor eliminations. Champion/vets duped with mediocre, elimination challenges. It's just unbelievable the champions didn't win all of the eliminations. So far, Michelle has had too much game time. It's ridiculous. She's annoying, her voice is like nails on a chalkboard, she's sneaky, and she plays both sides of the house, and eventually will backstab someone. Confessional attire doesn't change?? If challenges and eliminations show anything about the new competitors, it certainly clarifies that none of them would survive a real endurance, strategic final based on previous finals that were grueling. Will they dumb down the final like the rest of this game. So far, this season has been like high school girls ganging up against other girls and acting petty. Instead of building solid alliances, they are so stupid that they get into more than one alliance....have they watched previous games. I watched every single challenge season and this has been the worst of all of them. I'm glad that they got rid of Big T because who was absolutely annoying with her strategy song, she can't even run a mile! Melissa gone not soon enough, her strategy was to get in someone's face and try to get them to hit her and get that person sent home. I was sick of her whining from day one. As far as I'm concerned, they made bad choices of contestants for a new Champion. It's actually laughable, I've seen some players before, but not impressed with any of them and certainly I don't feel most of them don't have enough challenge credits or strategic, intelligent game play to be called a Champion. There were so many other deserving player who could have filled those slots.
At the start...So, we gave up Josh bawling and feeling sorry for himself and now Cory took his place. What is that big powder puff on Cory's head? A new norm hair style? Melissa and Big T are just annoying. I like the idea of mixing up the games so contestants aren't sure exactly where they stand with each other. The Voice (2011)
Who the heck dresses the contestants? Looks like thrift store rejects. Plus final opinion.
The outfits the contestants are wearing are absolutely laughable. A nice dress and Frankenstein boots! What's with the either bizarre attire or let's see how small a dress you can stuff yourself into! Does Gwen own any normal clothes? I agree with the band overpowering the contestants sometimes and the coaches make so many comments that they disrupt the singer, which isn't fair and should be stopped. We watch to listen to the voice not their commentary. Clarkson was terrible at interruptions...always yelling and screaming! Appearances are overdone, and so many singers are such great talents and it isn't fair to them to make them appear like someone who isn't in their wheel house. Let the real talent shine through and let them be themselves instead of making big productions that overshadow the real person who has potential to show us who they really are instead of being used for sensationalism. Sidenote, if you have a prominent nose, you shouldn't draw attention to it with a nose ring. On a positive note, there are some really talented people this season, and I hope they have a chance to win on their own merit. FINAL: Highlight Keith Urban. Niall with Mara was dynamic singing Wasted Time. She should have won! In my opinion, she was refreshing and diversified...more than a one note entertainer! Then before we got to the winner, we had to suffer some goofball with an Elmer Fudd hunting cap and Tula and her trashy suggestive dancers (that's entertainment?). I miss the charisma that gives you goose bumps when a singer utters the fist line and you know it's star quality. The winner was the rocker, but I didn't see that charismaI yet want to wish him the best. The new coach lineup for next season appears to be heavily western focus with ONE female judge. Not interested in another boring season. I want to hear new VOICES that knock my socks off. Where are the real stars? Where are they? Not on the Voice!
NCIS: Sydney (2023)
Again Poor Casting
Olivia...bad veneers, horrible wig, and needs to learn how to act instead of sneer. Unprofessional attire, so much for Uber casual? Tuuli poor acting, everything isn't a joke. The rest of the cast brings some originality. So far, the last CSI casts have been disappointing. Trying to please all with tossing in poor actors to meet diversity instead of focusing on the cutting edge that the original CSI kept us coming back has failed. Please get back to the great edgy scripts and dynamic casts so watchers can invest in watching great programming instead of wasting time posting bad reviews. Miss the old CSI.
The Kitchen (2014)
Sunny Just Doesn't Get It!
Watched the kitchen for years and found Sunny annoying, loud and obnoxious. She would knock over people to get to food! With her supposed intestinal issues, you would think she would be careful about tasting a bite versus cramming her mouth full and insisting on talking. I recently watched some 2014 episodes and then a couple from 2023. The sad part is is she's never learned to make a change. Manners are important. You are judged by your behavior and your appearance. Speaking of appearance, I don't know where she buys her clothes or who dresses her, but she wears the most outrageous, ugly, loud and unprofessional attire. Add to that atrocious makeup and nail polish. You would think after more than 10 years of comments, she would grow up and maybe realize being the bizarre, freaky person on the show is not to her benefit and many people don't enjoy her behavior. She continues talking over others, constant interruptions, angling for attention to the point of crowding out others even when she is assisting. She complains about bashing, maybe she might consider common sense advise is helpful and to consider a possible change in her boring and redundant yelling behavior and end of sentence screaming! Change is good! I watched 11/25 Spread Some Cheer (2023) holiday theme. Sunny wore camo pants, untied open trainers and a green tee with pocket. Everyone else was dressed appropriate for a holiday themed show...guess she didn't get the memo. More interruptions than usual, seemed she had to comment or grunt after anyone spoke and even drowned out Katie when she trying to offer a helpful comment. Katie offers positive comments about the food prepared vs Sunny's unnecessary comments. Such a narcissistic human who acts out in any way she can to gain camera attention. I love the recipes and enjoy the others who each brings positive energy. Sunny often appears angry or bored when she isn't on camera. If you watch closely that behavior is apparent. One more issue, burn those ugly, stringy, inappropriate wigs! And send her to an etiquette class to learn manners! The camera crew enables her bad behavior, so put a stop to that maybe and who ever handles sound could turn her down or shut her off if she oversteps too much!
The Challenge: All Stars (2021)
Can you say fitness and prepared? Season 1
I've been re-watching all The challenge from episode one to current. Now watching this season and at the final. So many overweight, unfit females! One refused do perform some water challenges. Annesa felt she was entitled to a final because she lost out to so many others. Maybe more fitness training and less time in kitchen stuffing her mouth while others were outside working their butts off exercising. Maybe thinks social game is her choice of exercise? She whined about fat comments....if the shoe fits, find a solution! Hard to watch some struggle. Hit the gym,go to the Y, find a school track and come to these challenges prepared. Uk and Australia proved that fitness counted more than social media! What part of CHALLENGE is not understood? These challenges are for the prepared and no joke. Unfit is unfair to any partner or team. Fitness should be a prerequisite for a place in the game. Games are dangerous and demanding. This show is a perfect example.
Project Runway (2004)
Sad presentation for all stars.... Disagree with outcome!
When it got down to the final before the runway collection show, I was shocked that Rani was eliminated. His collection had the potential to wow a runway. Would the blonde knock the design world on their socks? Doubt it! The blonde hasn't shown anything extraordinary design during the whole season, but I guess she's tried so many times, they probably wanted to give her a chance to go to a runaway! If they wanted to give her the opportunity to experience a runway, in the past, when they've had four solid designers, they let all 4 present a mini collection from which 3 would be selected for final show, Rani deserved a equal opportunity to show his expertise! So disappointed, and actually rather disgusted after watching and comparing Rani' beautiful constructed original designs vs. The blondes rather been there-seen that designs and lack of originality. What was wrong with the judges? You would think that they would have known better. That's what is really disappointment. On another note. I was tired of watching one person present leather every single time and the only time she was forced to go outside the box, she made a dumb looking skirt/kilt and a bullet proof vest thing that was absolutely atrocious, but she remained. Go figure.
