Man cheng jin dai huang jin jia (2006)
The director is a chinese Michael Bay.
This title came across my attention in Hotstar recently, and the movie is quite famous I heard thus decided to have a go. Good casting as well.
Started so well with the conflict & political issue in the palace, makes me wanted to continue..
But after that all the plot & the sense of time seems to be disjointed, with the fighting & battle scenes are so fake & horrible. At this moment even the surprise parts seems to be like a clown act I laughed myself towards the end of the movie.
They think with all the graphics, grandiosity & the music can save this film, actually it is like Michael Bay's film, but in chinese. A lot of beautiful film are actually good not just by showcasing the graphics only.
To add to my stress level, majority of the review here gave high marks for this piece.
Luckily I couldn't put 0.
Oslo (2021)
An eye opener
Being a political movie fan I kinda like this movie. The film seems like being dragged on but you can imagine what more draggy and difficult the real peace negotiation was. It shed some light into what is happening in politics of the area. Go watch this with an open mind and you will enjoy this.
The Sinking of Van Der Wijck (2013)
I'm a Malaysian and I love this movie
I never read the novel before watching this, but my god i'm truly in awe of Hamka for writing this masterpiece even though it was adapted from a novel still it was so beautiful.Even from the start I was already hooked up to the artful dialogue, the different accent and culture between Minangkabau & Bugis.Herjunot Ali as Zainuddin truly a standout performer in this movie with supporting casts that were also great. Finally, what compliment great movie if not great music and soundtrack? The ship scene and the aftermath looks too simplistic but otherwise can be forgiven.Overall - this will stay in my Netflix list for a long time.
